Photorealistic Screenshots of BLESS – Even the Photographer Cannot Tell

BLESS is based on the Unreal Engine 3 and is the first to utilize the engine's landscape tool. It is set in a medieval fantasy world. During the process of BLESS's development, an American National Geographic Photographer was invited to pick out BLESS's screenshots from his photography works, but he felt it hard to do that. The graphics are good, but considering the title of the article, I'm more than a little disappointed.

Again, the title and article missing the point completely, if they are only considering the "I can't believe my eyes" comment.

He said "I can't believe my eyes when I know this picture comes from an MMOgame." Speficifically mentioning the type of game and the average IQ you expect from such games. He didn't say he can't tell the difference, and he didn't even say "this picture comes from a game", which still wouldn't mean he can't tell the difference, but that the visuals are really good.

There isn't any link to an actual interview where he's saying he can't tell the difference either, so I'm assuming the article is extrapolating his tweet in such a wrong way. A sadly common occurence, unfortunately.

im sorry but he cant be a very good photographer if he cant tell the difference. if he was told ones a game and ones real then he should be able to say from those pictures straight away.

That Photographer needs his eyes checked.

Bless has some good graphics but these pictures are NOT in 4K so the amount of detail is very lacking.

even then in 4K real life just has those Perfect flaws that stand-out unlike rendering which has NO flaws hence it never looking on par with real life.

I don't know yet if Bless is an MMO for me but Bless and Black Desert both do look great.

LMAO... on top of that the photographer made the comment 9 months ago... pretty weak marketing attempt. The textures are way too low res and uniform for anyone to mistake that for a photograph... but I guess when your game is crap, you have to resort to marketing gimmicks.

Last statement isn't a burn on the graphics, they seem impressive.
Just a lot less impressive than the headline states.
