Nice. First zombie game I'm picking up for my PS4

Without a doubt. My big debate is if I should ask for my press copy on PS 4 or PC.

I would say PS4. The PC release of Dead Island was pretty buggy at launch.

They are really pushing the marketing hard for a game that looks like Dead Island with worse hit detection/combat and parkour elements.

I played it at PAX Prime on two different maps. I can tell you it is much better than any Dead Island game. We have the gameplay video up as well. It is much faster and more detailed.

The demo shown at the VGX awards was not very inspiring as the melee weapons seemed to just phase through the zombies rather than providing any actual feedback.

But if you have played it you know better than me, all I can do is hope they release a Demo and if not I will torrent it to try it out and buy it if it is any good.

It has some work to do to be sure but I think it stands to be one of the better games of 2014. I loved cleaving a zombie in half with a weapon.

Yes, they have a standard attack and a full power attack. I had an axe that had been enhanced, I let fly with it and split them.
