This game is lookin' good. Can't wait for a decent horror game. Especially a good 3rd person horror game. All the decent horror games right now are 1st person, and I just prefer 3rd person. It give me a better connection with the character.

Its only published by Bethesda, they are not developing per se, the team behind it is Tango Gameworks. Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami is director of the game.

Instant horror classic franchise right here. Capcom has thrown away their horror crown and resident evil sales will do nothing but fall from here on out with any other sequel. The story as just become boring as dirt. The characters are so freakn stupid as well... like no one in their right mind would act the way ada wong acts.. doesn't make any sense. At least in re2 she made some sense.. now its like a running gag.

Ada really added nothing to RE4. In fact her constantly showing up with perfect timing really made me salty.

Breaks my heart that there's no new Silent Hill on the horizon though, like from any developer :(.

never really got into silent hill.. I played 2 of the newer ones... and beat them.. and they bored the hell out of me. What gets me is that the story never seems to be envolved with the sequels... like they are all just a retelling with different characters with a different plot... in the same location. Different reasons for the monsters in every game.

@Kurylo3d: You have to play SH 1-3 and then you will know what true horror is all about. They are intelligent and haunting. They are for people who can interpret art and find deeper meaning within the world of Silent Hill. It takes a little bit of mental footwork to figure everything out but thats the fun.They are incredibly atmospheric and well written. If you arent in to any of the things I mentioned then these games are simply not in your taste but I would at least try them first.

I believe you... just like resident evil 1-3 are actually scary and engrossing... the environment itself is a character in those games.

Today everything is just another hallway to blast your way through .. that you will never revisit... just a 1 time walk through.. hop over a box.. blow 3 guys away... and move on.

@pyramidshead: Hideo Kojima has mentioned several times now that he would love to see someone make a new Silent Hill game using his new Fox Engine so honestly I would expect one relatively soon and for next gen consoles. Can you imagine a next gen Silent Hill game made by a Japanese developer?. I hope they get the old team to make the next one. Team Silent were so freaking talented.

He now has two games I want him to make but probably never will. Next gen Silent Hill & ZoE3.

@pyramidshead: I have to disagree with you about him letting MGS go. Im a massive fan. However he did say this may be his last MGS game so maybe you will get your wish. He didn't say that he would be the guy making the SH game though he just said he wants someone to use his engine.

and you believe him? kojima said mgs 3 was going to be he last metal gear... then metal gear solid 4 was definently his last metal gear... then of course came peacewalker.. and 5 now lol so now 5 is the "last"...

Pretty sure hes just milking his popularity to get more to buy it.. which in either case its a day one buy ass long as hes the one behind it. The day kojima is done with metal gear is the day im done with it.

Those screenshots are just incredible. I have a feeling that Box Head is going to be The Evil Withins Pyramid Head and that he represents something about our protagonist's psyche. I love psychological horror for this reason. It acts as a puzzle and you need to interpret what the artists and writers are trying to show you. I bet the inside of Box Heads safe is a dark secret.

I honestly don't think that this game will be scary from what they've shown so far. It's not subtle whatsoever in the horror, just loud noises and running down hallway set pieces. Not to mention that overly japanese way that the characters talk.
