Diehard GameFAN: Nintendo 3DS Guide: Louvre Review

DHGF: Nintendo 3DS Guide: Louvre is an exceptionally well done piece of software that most gamers won’t bother to pick up, but then they’re missing out of something truly extraordinary. This digital recreation of the Louvre sports nearly 500 pieces of art and over thirty-five hours of audio content. All for just $19.99. That’s a fraction of what it would cost to fly to Paris and see the paintings in the flesh…where you’d just end up having the option to rent this for five Euros anyway. You also don’t have to deal with the crowds or maddening lines. This piece of software is one of my favorite releases for all of 2013, regardless of system, but it really is a niche product most gamers will ignore in favor of something that lets you murder monsters or the like. Still, if you’ve read this far it means you’re interested and at this point you should download this without delay.

I have Fire Emblem Fates LE, the European one. Not sure if it's as valuable as the US version, but it certainly was in high demand.

Don't think the European one would be as valuable since it's not region free. I got mine box and all and all those Yokai Watch games

I also have some of the Yokai Watch games, but also the PAL versions which don't seem to be that valuable.

Its not often I actually have games on the 'most expensive list' but I do own Rhythm Thief and Layton vs. Ace Attorney. I believe both of them are sealed as well.

Nice! Hopefully they re-release the Layton games on the Switch. Surprised they haven't already

Nintendo’s Tour of the Louvre: Gaming, Art, and Virtual Reality

The Louvre Museum in Paris is an architectural marvel, a palace built upon, renovated, and expanded from its origins as a fortress. Even awe would be an understatement to describe the feeling exploring its vast wings. I had the official Nintendo DS Louvre Guide to lead me, complete with a GPS and 3D Imaging designed specifically for the museum—on rent for just five Euros at any of the booths.

Nintendo 3DS Guide: Louvre Is Not A Game, And That’s Not A Bad Thing | Siliconera Review

Siliconera: One of the questions asked more and more as video games expand and change as a medium is “what qualifies as a game”? There are arguments to disqualify software with too little user initiative, or that lacks clear win/lose conditions, or that isn’t making an attempt to be fun. I’ve always found myself more on the inclusive side of these arguments, preferring to expand the definition of game than to adopt some sort of unwieldy “interactive experience” label or the like. However, I have finally found where I draw the line.
