I still can't believe how good this looks. I' m curious to see whether the next-gen consoles will be able to handle this engine.

KAEM73813d ago

They stated that the engine was designed with the next gen in mind, so they should be able to handle it fine

Gazondaily3813d ago

Hats off to the devs. How they've pulled this off is beyond me. Proper next-gen. My mates and I were watching the VGX together and when we saw this, our faces:

The whole way the PVE elements are mixed with PVP is a touch of genius. So you play through this post-apocalyptic city with your friends, you encounter some A.I enemies, you take them out and then rescue some NPC's, get your cash, resources whatever and its time to evac and boom, all of a sudden you're caught in a skirmish with other players. You can lose your weapons and death really is something you want to avoid.

This is the kind of game I have imagined playing for a long time. Let's hope the Division lives up to our lofty expectations.

MadLad3813d ago

It will definitely be quite the experience if they manage to pull it off well.

I'm sure MMOs have been doing this but its a great thing. Can't wait for this game how they described it sounds like what dayz devs is tryna do but in a different setting. I been waiting for this type of doomsday game with just chaos between people. I wonder will the beginning b filled with looting like how it would be in real life people going crazy looting stores 60in TV in a shopping cart lol

Excalibur3813d ago

Absolutely phenomenal, can't wait.

ape0073813d ago

this is what i call NEXT GENERATION, this is the first time i saw a huge leap compared to current/last gen

AMAZING

Qrphe3813d ago

These are definitely not running on next-gen hardware but PCs, it's easy to tell they're not honest screenshots since there is not aliasing at all.

Scenarist3813d ago

anybody notice that next gen didnt up the polycount? ... the most important factor in next gen games .. are ..wait for it.. .wait for it...... light and shadows ... the bettter they are the better the graphics .. the harder the the gpu has to do the math ..

i think ive said this before... light and shadows ..

Visiblemarc3813d ago

Light and shadows are super important, but that said, the poly counts are confirmed to be dramatically higher in most next gen games, which are talking about such details. For example, character models' poly counts have, on average, quadrupled. Also, all that detailed realtime damage they were showing in the demo, illustrates a pretty high poly count.

Scenarist3812d ago

ok i agree .. polys have increased but still there is no denying that the foundation of this next gen is all about the way these new engines render light and shadows (and the systems having the power to make it worth it)

I am in absolute agreement with the OP 👌

I hate when I see single player games and see people begging for multi-player. Jeez guys it don't need to be on every game. Latest one I seen was atomic heart.

-Foxtrot405d ago

Multiplayer or even co-op

If it was always a single player game then that's how it is

Inverno405d ago

It's a trend that never really went away. For me multiplayer in a primarily SP focused game was an excuse for DLC. Then there's the mentality gamers had that adding multiplayer makes a game worth the price, otherwise it should be half price for half a game. A way of thinking devs reassured when they started adding multiplayer to their sequels. We see the same with multiplayer focused games getting SP in their sequels.

Flawlessmic405d ago

Tbh multilayer now is a way to add live service and mtx elements, very rarely does it come of well.

What single players game used to be in a lot of cases now require 3 other people for keeping to really enjoy it and I hate having to rely on others to get the maximum from a game.

Sp should be sp, if devs want to add a separate multi mode then that's fine with me, the legends addition to ghost of tshushima was fricking sick but totally separate to the main game. Sick of co op too.

Hofstaderman405d ago

I remember when certain single player games had them as included optional modes that was played on the couch. Had brilliant times with Syphon Filter and Golden Eye. Me and my bro used to used to fight over who would play as Gabe even though it was technically just a skin. Good times.

Dagexon404d ago

I didn't notice your comment before I added mine.
But good times indeed
