Triverse writes, "Back in the day, Microsoft had it kind of tough getting original titles on their Xbox system. Some companies showed support while hold certain games back for whatever reason. Viewtiful Joe 2 is one of those titles that snubbed the console from Seattle. Previously released on the Nintendo Gamecube, Viewtiful Joe 2 made his debut today, nine years ago, on Sony's Playstation 2."
VGChartz's Taneli Palola: "The legacy of a video game developer isn't always contingent on its longevity or the number of games it develops. Some studios end up burning out fast and leaving behind only a few games to remember them by, but once in a while those few games are enough to make such a lasting impression that years after the studio's closure people still remember its name and speak fondly of the titles it created.
This kind of reverence is reserved for only a select few studios, ones that end up creating some of the most lasting and memorable games of all time, but which for one reason or another are still unable to survive in the harsh video game industry. Few development studios exemplify this better than Capcom's revered former in-house developer, Clover Studio. In total, the developer was around for less than three years, but still managed to leave behind an indelible mark on the people who played its games. This is the story of Clover Studio."
Greysun writes: "Capcom recently stated that they plan on utilizing some of their dormant franchises. Here are five of them that we would love to see make a comeback."
Maximo
Beatdown Fists of Vengeance
GODHAND
Okami
Viewtiful Joe
Onimusha
Bionic Commando (but without the weird character redesign)
Final Fight
Clock Tower
Now that Capcom is porting Onimusha to modern consoles, one must wonder what other games the company is planning to bring to the current generation. Here are a few ideas.
Why are people so obsessed with Microsoft?
I really wish they would make another for the PS4, I waited for a part 3 on the PS3 or at least a port of Viewtiful joe: Red hot Rumble, but it never happen.
Henshin a go-go baby!
I really wish Viewtiful Joe would make it into Smash as a character. I dunno how they'd make use of his slow down and speed up powers without making him broken, but I'm sure they'd find a way...
what do you mean...back in the day? lol
