Doesnt say anything about not being able to play online.Seems like we wont just be able yo access accound management and the PSN store.cuz usuallu they outline when we wont be able to play online.

This is in regards to Playstation Europe. So assuming the NA servers are down at the same time it should be from 11AM - 7PM EST.

as I'm new to the ps world with my ps4 how often does this happen and are all ps network services affected?

Not often, and i think you will still be able to play online, just not access the store and some other cloud features.

All video services like Netflix, Hulu Plus, and online play should work. No PSN Store, No PS Home(PS3 Only)or Profile info can be accessed but I'm not sure about the all new Live From PlayStation broadcasting tho... ^~^ How often? About every 2 months or so...but seeing that PS4 is shiny new it may take a couple more times to perfect it.

U do know that u can still play online if your already playing online while maitenace is about to begin. Just because psn is doing maitenace, u can still be in BF4 since it has its own servers. Unlike xbl when there is a maitenace no one can be on.

Edit: I meant any game at any given time but just pointed out BF4 as usually all games running through psn has their own servers.

This is BS. When MS does maintenance. Its in the background. Meaning the service is completely unaffected. Nice try though. I am a Sony fan but when i see bullshit like this, i call it out. Your spreading falsehoods. I bet you never used an Xbox in your life. I owned a Xbox 360 since day one. And never and i mean ever has there been a time where maintenance forced you offline. In my whole experience on Xbox live, i havent been able to access online about 3 times in 8 years. And those times werent because of maintenance but because off other issues like glitches in the system. Now compare that with PS3, and since last December alone, i have been forced offline for maintenance around 4 times. One of those times, it took 72 hours for it to come back online. Which i think was in January of 2013. And you can only have access to PSN if you signed in before they went into maintenance. And even then, it still didnt allow access to account management and the store. MS has a WAY better set up when it comes to maintenance. They use different channels. So, when they do maintenance. Its do in the background. Fact!

I disagree, when microsoft does maintenance/network updates you cannot use xboxlive AT ALL...granted it happens far less than psn but it does happen. and i'm not talking about those small background maintenance that you're talking about, i mean the big ones like whenever they update the dashboard...
and before you misunderstand me (because i know you will) i mean the maintenance they do in preparation for the massive update...i've been kicked off of live at one point or another warning me about said maintenance. now for the most part they try to do it during the later hours when most people are sleeping so millions of people aren't compelled to call and complain like they usually do.

Thats what exactly what I mean. When xbl has a big update & is on maintenance everyone on xbl is offline. These dudes forget that xbl is integrated with every game played on the service. Why the fu** do u think its p2p? Dont get mad because im keepin it real.

My guess is this is to fix the FIFA/PSN payment security breach.

I tried it for the 1st time ever I bought an ultimate team pack with my credit card on Wednesday. Firstly as part of a bit of a disturbed test to see if it was true but secondly also because i've never been able to get in to ultimate team mode & prefer career mode but my mates keep trying to talk me into it. This morning I woke up & I was locked out of PSN requesting that I change my password, so I've changed it for everything.

Surprised that Sony keep getting away with this without any ramifications.
