Battlefield 4 PS4 Patch Incoming. | Also fixes twitch audio bug.

Symonator.net writes:

"EA/DICE are rolling out a ps4 patch today.
Today's patch also fixes a crash that could occur when having a very large amount of friends, according to the official post. It also enabled audio in PS4 video captures on twitch. I reported on the twitch bug a couple of days ago.

Other patches are on the way, according to the post.
Since its launch on next-gen consoles, Battlefield 4 users have reported crashes on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Earlier this week, the China Rising expansion launched, but players reported being dropped, booted and unable to connect to servers.

Yesterday, EA officials said they were putting all future expansions on hold until they could resolve the current issues plaguing the game."

If this doesn't fix everything I might pawn this game -_- seriously.

famoussasjohn3811d ago

Might as well pawn it now because it won't fix everything, look at the patch notes. There are more things to fix than the items listed in this patch.

khellendros13811d ago

I played it for 3 hours yesterday an it's improved a lot. It's only crashed twice since the last update. It would crash twice an hour before update. It still has some sound issues though.

babyhand3811d ago

that's better but sad at the same time.

El_Colombiano3811d ago

I actually love playing this game. Sue me.

Fishy Fingers3811d ago (Edited 3811d ago )

The audio bugs (not during capture/share) are really p***ing me off. More than the occasional crash.

And for the love if god, let us join games in a group. My X button must of aged 5 years with all the spamming trying to join games.

At least they're trying. Still hugely enjoying the game.

famoussasjohn3811d ago

The audio glitches that were patched for the vanilla maps will move into the new China Rising maps, so there will need to be another patch to fix the sound glitch for that expansion.

GarrusVakarian3811d ago

I had a patch earlier today....it was around 600mb, and the first was 800mb (i think) -_-.

Does anyone know the reason for EA/DICE's patches being so large?

Stsonic3811d ago

Battlefield 3 on PC started at 11GB and is now nearer to 30GB for reference.

famoussasjohn3811d ago (Edited 3811d ago )

RedDevils - in BF3, they included the patches amongst the expansion packs so they averages about 4-8GB of storage. They never released patches individually. So by the end of it all, the patches+dlc were around 30GB.

famoussasjohn3811d ago

Ya the patch sizes are obnoxiously big. Dunno about the size of the map pack was for China Rising for consoles, but was about 4.4GB on PC, but 800mb for a patch is kinda annoying.

Az1mov3811d ago (Edited 3811d ago )

OLD! misleading title. this is yesterday's patch and didn't fix s*** what a disappointment this game is. We're freaking beta testing the game for them. I played BF3 on 3 platforms and it never go this low. It ran best on X360 and PC.

Aggesan3811d ago

The sound works while streaming and recording videos now though.

Az1mov3811d ago (Edited 3811d ago )

yep it does. however, I'm still experiencing all audio glitches, cuts and stuttering as many other PS4 players on the DICE forum. and more importantly the lag

El_Colombiano3811d ago

Get your equipment checked. None of my friends, nor I, have experienced lag, audio cuts or shuddering. That's at LEAST ten people I am talking about, not a whiny bunch of kids on a forum.

Battlefield 1, Hardline, BF4 Servers Are Being Taken Offline by Cheaters; EA Silent on Issue

Cheaters & hackers have been causing grief on Battlefield 1, Hardline & BF4 servers, with nonstop DDoS attacks among other things. Unfortunately, EA has remained silent about it.

-Foxtrot777d ago

Course they are silent, they are hoping people flock to 2042

gamesftw250776d ago

Maybe it was a inside job then haha.

jeromeface775d ago

wouldnt be the first time, titanfall 1+2 anyone?

PapaBop776d ago

Not even if they paid me.. EA always do this with old games with less money potential, if this was Ultimate Team, they'd address and sort it faster than stories could spread. Why invest time in their products when they will just dump it in the following years? Then again EA never could see the forest for the trees.

Inverno776d ago

I imagine after those games were given out for free a couple months back through Amazon, anything that makes people go to 2042 is a plus for them

XiNatsuDragnel777d ago

They want people to go on 2042. My theory

excaliburps776d ago

Nah. I think they can't do anything about it or they want to sink money into fixing it.

Pudge102888776d ago (Edited 776d ago )

EA owns all BF servers so yes, they can do something about it but they refuse to because they dont want ppl playing their old games instead of the new one. Its EA we’re talking about here

pr33k33776d ago

if this happened in 2042, they'd have something to say. which is weird, considering battlefield 1 has more players on steam right now.

Pudge102888776d ago

Its so obvious that EA is doing this or hired ppl to mess up the games so that we’d be forced to have just 1 Battlefield working.

FPS_D3TH776d ago

Honestly it’s probably the devs themselves. They did an update to bf4 way back that kinda made assault rifles doo doo in hopes that people would flock to BF1 cuz BF4 was too perfect

There's a bunch of great shooters on gamepass; both legacy and new.

A recommendation I have is a work in progress preview title called Anacrusis. It's a lot of fun, and has a cool aesthetic.

KeenGamer: "Sometimes a game starts out as a buggy mess and we all just stop and think, “that definitely could have spent a bit more time in the oven”. This is the case for these 5 games which infamously marked their place in recent game memory."
