VGX: Will Fallout 4, the Next Batman Be Revealed?

IGN editors sit down and run through the possible big announcements from this weekend's event.

XboxFun3816d ago

No more Batman games!!! C'mon, Superman is passed due!

Open world, fully destructible environments, epic fight battles and full on Apocalypse invasion for the last battle!

Austin483815d ago

Superman sucks batman is way better i hope they keep making batmans although I would like to see a batman vs superman game

xXBlondieVanHarlowXx3815d ago (Edited 3815d ago )

You suck i'm WAY BETTERZ lol jk. But no, Superman is the gem on DC's crown, in the pantheon of heroes Superman is the most recognisable, his name is known worldwide. He's the very first friggin superhero!!! In case of a Braniac, Doomsday or Darkseid attack what's Batman gonna do? Throw a batarang at em & tie them up? I'm not hating on Bats. I love Batman, alot, but to pretend Batman is above Superman anywhere in the DC mythos is silly. The man of steel deserves a good game is all i am saying (especially after all of the terrible ones he's had). Here's hoping Rocksteady can do him justice one day :/ Despite alot of very vocal gamers thinking just like you.

As for F4, please announce it Bethesda -_-. The wait has been painful. I've played through F3 & NV an unhealthy amount of times & i'm ready for whatever's next!!

Maxor3815d ago

The problem with being Superman is that you're a freaking god, a squeaky clean god at that.

King_many_layers3815d ago

Superman is just too all around powerful to make a game that is as fun and balanced as the Arkham games.

Batman is still a human being, so he's able to fail and battle as a human. Superman however is far beyond human in strength and movement, forcing any opponent in a game to be of equal or marginally lesser, but how can you go about doing that?

I look at games like Infamous to try and ascertain an idea, but still it's hard to compare because he's still limited and superman's flight allows for travelling anywhere at speed. Would enemies have to be near as capable?

RedDevils3815d ago

I want a wolverine game like how they doing with the movie, just focus on his story

XboxFun3815d ago

I don't understand how Superman is too powerful to make a game out of?

Considering we have characters like Kratos who kills Gods and has climbed out of the pits of hell in damn near three games.

Superman can be hurt, it takes a lot but he can be hurt. He already comes equipped with his own special moves that can easily be translated in video game form. He also has enemies that give him a challenge everytime he faces them, Metallo, Parasite, Darkseid, Bizarro, Intergang (because they have Apocalypse tech), Zod, etc etc.

An open world Superman like EA tried with Superman Returns and succeeded in some areas but failed in a lot. Imagine a fully destructible Metropolis!

Even though I really do love Superman I just really feel that the dark gritty gotham and Bats makes for a more fun game, of course maybe we just haven't seen the "Arkham Asylum" of Superman yet

sobotz3816d ago (Edited 3816d ago )

I hope it's Fallout 4.

It would be cool if we can use Vita/Smartphone to be a touch-able PipBoy.. since many games already using the SmartGlass feature

Derekvinyard133815d ago

Good idea, I'm hoping it's less buggy this time around

NukaCola3816d ago (Edited 3816d ago )

Fallout 4 is all I want. Any new sweet reveals are just the cherries on my epic cone of apocalyptic epicness

Garbanjo0013815d ago

Funny thing is, if you google what is on www.thesurvivor2299.com you are lead to two websites talking about fallout 4 in russian. It has some screen shots that look much too good to be current gen Fallout. Check it out. That's all I want is a new Fallout game, much overdue.

Demster3815d ago

I speak fluent russian. If you drop me a link, I could check the stuff and translate if I find something interesting!

Dirkster_Dude3815d ago

I wouldn't mind seeing another Fallout 4. Maybe add vehicles into the game. Never made sense to me that you eventually have this really cool character and they are still walking around at the end of the game. They have the Virtibirds, and motorcycles that are obviously parked and not-ruined that appeared in the game, but you couldn't use them in Fallout 3, Vegas, etc. If robots and such survive why not vehicles as well?

MidnytRain3815d ago

Not really necessary if there are enough points of interest. Fast travel is enough. Including vehicles is for games when going from A to B is so boring and stale that the player only wishes he could skip the process.

Garbanjo0013815d ago

I think that is the next step in Fallout. Vehicles are a must in Next Gen, because the terrain is going to be monumentally bad ass.

How nice of them to give us more control over graphical settings as a way to *completely* avoid taking accountability for the broken Xbox settings.

bondsmx2d ago

Well, I still crashed like 5 times last night within two hours. So there’s that.

anast1d 8h ago

I had to stop. The game is not good. I'd rather play Skyrim and that game isn't that good either.

I Think It's About Time We Realize Fallout 4 Wasn't That Bad

Ahmed from eXputer: "2015's Fallout 4 received harsh criticism upon launching, but I think it was unwarranted and the game deserves more praise than it got."

helicoptergirl7d ago

It was totally that bad. I couldn't finish the campaign it was so bland and boring as I recall. Got so sick of it. 1000 stimpaks on hard. It is very rare that I play half a game and then just quit. I usually always finish it. But i was so bored with this game I just stopped and never went back and never regretted it. Just thinking about that game makes me shudder

Furesis7d ago

That's exactly what happened to me too lmao
Fallout 4 is not a fallout game period it's a bethesda game

Vits7d ago

The comparison with Skyrim is mind-boggling. Yes, Skyrim has streamlined many of the systems that Morrowind introduced. However, it did not tamper with the core of the Elder Scrolls franchise; it did not diminish the freedom and sense of exploration that made Bethesda RPGs famous. Fallout 4, on the other hand, did exactly that to the Fallout series. It eliminated what made Fallout such a beloved series to play. There are no consequences for your choices, no reason to explore, and barely any interesting set pieces in the game.

It's not terrible, but it's a painfully mediocre game in a franchise that typically doesn't produce such mediocrity. So that is why people see it as bad, the bar is just much higher.

anast7d ago

They both feel the same because they are, it's just that one has swords and magic and the other has swords and guns.

anast7d ago

I'm replaying it now. It sucks. I'm about 30 hours in and thinking about quitting again. I am so tired of the dialogue I just spam a random button because it doesn't matter. The upgrade just feels like a graphical mod, everything else is not good.

Good-Smurf7d ago (Edited 7d ago )

I couldn't play the game as-is it was insanely boring and grindy and the grind itself are not fun at all.
Mods helped me stomach the game a bit better but after a while I just stopped playing and uninstalled it because the game did nothing after the first few hours to give me any motivation to keep playing it, it just became a mindless looter shooter with obsession in settlement building and defending.
Compared to F3 and FNV, F4 was barely a mediocre game it wasn't bad but it's also very forgettable entry.

MrDead7d ago

It's not that bad after 300+ mods that fix it's issues and make the game fun... but lets not talk about mods right now as they are f****d.
