With the rising price of next-gen games a hot topic of conversation, the case for free-to-play moving onto consoles should be easier to make. Games like Warframe, however, probably won't help.
It's a four-player co-op third-person shooter, pitting human players in Guyver-esque supersuits known as Warframes against a variety of evil alien cyborg types. If that scenario causes your eyes to glaze over with weary familiarity then rest assured, the game that follows is even more generic and characterless than you think.
Warframe "Jade Shadows" will drop in June, and will feature a new single-player narrative quest, new cosmetics and the 57th Warframe, Jade.
While discussing the future of Warframe, Rebecca Ford said the team plans to wrap up any loose ends relevant to the current in-game events.
"Digital Extremes are today very happy and proud to announce that Warframe’s next highlightly anticipated Prime form launches soon with Protea Prime Access arriving on all platforms on May 1st, 2024." - Digital Extremes.
O.O well damn i really enjoy Warframe
Online game with objectives and tight controls. What else do they want from it? It's not Half-Life 3 or anything. Jesus.
Seriously? This game has consumed most of my PS4 play time. 8/10 at the least.
"What long-term appeal Warframe has comes from the ongoing levelling and upgrading of your character. Your suit and weapons level up with use, though you'd be hard pressed to notice any practical improvement in their functions."
"As well as a primary and secondary firearm, you go into battle toting a sword. The R1 button lashes out with this weapon, while holding it down delivers a slower but more powerful blow. It's functionally useless though, with a camera that is never up to the job in close quarters. You'll slash and slice at thin air, whirling your view around with the right stick in the hope that a few strikes will land."
Unfortunately, this is a case of a reviewer that didn't actually play the game for more than five minutes. He might of actually just watched gameplay videos. A large portion of the review, such as the sections that I quoted are simply untrue. Melee combat is VERY effective and the upgrade system is, in fact, quite substantial. Given, I've only played it on PC but unless its completely different on the PS4.... well.... All I can say is that I don't care that the reviewer didn't like the game, that's completely his right to feel however he feels but he should actually put some effort into a real review...you know... like actually playing the game...
Well they said the same thing about Ryse. And Ryse is better than Warframe in my opinion since I have both. But Warframe is a decent game too. I got Ryse from a buy 2 games get 1 free deal.
