While once PS4 launches in Europe it will beat that figure, Xbox One will have the second biggest worldwide launch in gaming history.

cleft53812d ago

If they only do 1.2 mil worldwide than that is not a good sign.

Vojkan3812d ago

VGbs HAHAHA how can anyone take this site seriously is beyond my understanding.

shoddy3812d ago

I assume 1.2 mil ship not sold cause xbone not out yet.

DragonKnight3812d ago

It's not going to be 1.2 million worldwide. That's almost impossible. The Xbox One has its flaws, but it's not the Phillips CD-I or the Panasonic 3D0. Also, it's not even releasing world wide until next year.

FamilyGuy3812d ago (Edited 3812d ago )

I'm thinking could hit 1.5 mil on the 22nd from the combined U.S. and EU sales while Sony will hit well over 2mil once it releases in others regions on the 29th.

If a second (smaller) shipment of PS4s hit retail stores this week or some time before black friday I can see Sony hitting 2.3mil for the november month alone. That's obviously if all the stars align and the claim/rumor of having more units in the U.S in time for black comes true.

indysurfn3812d ago

Am I the first one to notice this?

This article is VERY conniving! Why?

It is showing the top 12 AFTER all the PS4 preorders have been sold (and would no longer count as preorders). If they counted preorders the day BEFORE the PS4 launched, or even compared last day of PS4 preorders to last day of xbone preorders it would not have been conniving. This is why you only see games for ps4 not out yet, on the list.

Plus they state that xbone has more launch countries. If you go to Microsofts xboxone wikipedia.com page and Sonys ps4 page you will see that PS4 launches in 29 countries, and xbone is launching in only 13 countries!

Eonjay3812d ago (Edited 3812d ago )

This makes sense and the data has been holding firm. A few months ago I predicted 933,000 PS4 in the US. I was able to do that because of the reliable tie ration between COD and PS4. According to the same data Xbox One will ship between 760,000 and 800,000. If its more than that then it will mean that titles like Ryse and DR3 are becoming more enticing. We will find out soon enough.

malokevi3812d ago

The site lists KZ as an Xbox game. Experts on the subject, no doubt.

ChrisW3812d ago

If Xbox Live doesn't falter like PSN did, I'm going to assume that the latter simply didn't have the capacity to do a multi-region launch.

Why is that funny? Who cares how many they sell as long as whoever wants one gets one.

MRMagoo1233812d ago

There will be enough xbones sitting around for ppl that dont want one either lol

thrust3812d ago

Magoo are you really that stupid or are you trolling?

its hard to see that on this site sometimes the Sony fanboys really do believe what they say.

jjonez183812d ago

Really puts the feat sony accomplished into perspective huh?

Belking3812d ago

What feat? they lost money on each one sold. Ms will be making a profit on day one.

MysticStrummer3812d ago

@Belking - That's what happens when you sell weaker tech. I'd rather support a company that takes a bit of a loss while bringing better tech to their customers, but I'm not surprised that you ignore the part where Sony makes a profit as long as a game is purchased with the console. The early numbers show PS4 buyers also bought an average of three games, so yeah Sony is making money. Carry on with your BS, good soldier.

Burrito26a3812d ago (Edited 3812d ago )

@Belking. They made $18 off of every PS4.

DragonKnight3812d ago

What the hell are you talking about Belking? I costs Sony $382 to build a PS4. Do you know what that means? That means, negating other costs of launching a console, strictly selling the unit makes Sony $18 per unit. How is that losing money on each one sold?

As for MS, we don't know how much it costs to build an Xbox One, but we do know that MS is taking a considerable loss on each Kinect 2.0 sold, with some rumours suggesting it costs as much as the console to build. If anyone is losing money, it's Microsoft. The Xbox Division has never been out of the red since its inception. PS3 may have hit Sony hard, but PS1 and PS2 made Sony A LOT of money, money that MS has never come close to making (in terms of final profit) for their entire foray into gaming.

Geez, just because you're an MS fanboy doesn't mean you have to post outright ignorance.

Dragonborn3123812d ago

9 hours? Lucky! I have to wait more than 24 hours still haha. After those horrible 24 hours though I will be able to see you on the tracks! Great time for gamers.

B-radical3812d ago

900,000 in the USA is more then expected tbh with all the bad press x1 has got. I dont see x1 going away anytime soon

trunkswd3812d ago

Right now it looks like the PS4 will outsell the Xbox One lifetime. However, the Xbox One will still sell really well despite not being #1.

nasnas763812d ago

Does it really matter who sells the most? Having a choice on 2 good products is a luxury. Imagine if we only have 1 choice, how much and what progression and how long would that 1 product take for the next generation? Would be the worst thing for console gamers. Competition keeps all companies on their toes to keep things innovative as inexpensive as possible.

Xsilver3812d ago (Edited 3812d ago )

only 1.2 mil worldwide "WORLDWIDE" http://s712.photobucket.com... if that happens i can the MS right now http://media.portable.tv/wp...

Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag vs Skull and Bones Video Comparison Is an Eye-Opener

Ubisoft has just released Skull and Bones on PC and consoles. And, from the looks of it, the game wasn’t received well by some gamers. Not only that but it appears that Skull and Bones can be worse than Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, a game that came out a decade ago.

I wanted a Black Flag sequel so bad. It's still my favorite AC entry. The fact that they ignored everything that we loved about that game in this "spiritual successor" is making me enjoy watching this game crash and burn quite a bit. Either do it right or don't do it at all. (I understand the legal binding they got themselves into with the Singapore government to release this game at all costs)

/grabs popcorn

isarai71d ago

My thing is, if the Singapore govt was forcing you to do it at all cost, why not make what people wanted? How did ubi delay it for 5yrs, then again for 1yr and not just make a similar experience to black flag? How do you spend so much time and make so little?

Chocoburger70d ago

Ubisoft did make a sequel, Assassin's Creed: Rogue. It has a short campaign, and its packed with filler side quests for upgrades, but it's still a decent time.

It released on the same day as Assassin's Creed: Unity, so it was mostly forgotten.

porkChop71d ago

11 years of development. Multiple restarts. All the while people have been saying they don't want some pirate game where you can't even get off your ship. 11 years of people telling Ubisoft all they want is a pirate game that's basically Black Flag without any of the assassin or animus stuff. Yet they still served up this trash that no one wanted, charged $70 for it, and had the balls to call it AAAA.

The Guillemot family honestly needs to be forced out of Ubisoft. They've doubled down on everything players don't like about their games, they want AI to create "rough drafts" of their stories rather than letting their writers do their jobs, and they literally do not give a shit what their playerbase actually wants. 5-6 years ago their stock was worth more than 4x what it's currently worth. The company is dying.

Jin_Sakai71d ago (Edited 71d ago )

What has happened to developers? How can you possible make a worse looking game 11 years later? It’s honestly mind boggling.

darksky70d ago

It's because the older developers were better at it. The new generation pass most of their exams by copying code from around the web so are not nearly as good at understanding what they are developing.

LucasRuinedChildhood70d ago (Edited 70d ago )

No, here's the truth:
https://www.channelnewsasia...
This was made in Singapore and it's the first game of this scale to be made there. Ubisoft would probably cancel it normally since it clearly wasn't shaping up well but they were getting government grants to try build up the industry there.

Do you really think game developers are radically different than just 10 years ago? And this game has been development since Black Flag released.

Using one crap game to trash a whole industry of developers is stupid. It's like saying "Alien Colonial Marines proves that game developers suck now."

yeahokwhatever70d ago

i know this to be at least part of the puzzle from experience.

senorfartcushion70d ago

It's the multiplayer aspect of the world. MP games look worse than single player games, period. Every comparison we keep seeing are for games like Gotham Knights, Suicide Squad and Skull and Bones. They all have multiplayer focusses.

SyntheticForm71d ago

God, I'd love a remake of Black Flag.

Yi-Long70d ago

Enough has been said about this game already. The gaming world shrugged when it was announced so many years ago, and instead of listening to all the criticisms from the community back then, Ubi just sailed on and kept making a game nobody really wanted. What a waste of money and effort.
