The X series has never been very welcoming to newcomers; players were just thrown in a deep and complex universe without much help or sense of direction, and the player would have to discover what to do by themselves (or by doing some research online).
A remake of X Rebirth: Home of Light for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift has been released into Early Access.
EGOSOFT has announced that the Birth of Light expansion and the 4.0 update will be launched for their spaceship sim X Rebirth this coming February 2016. Preorders for the expansion are now available as well.
GG3 writes: "Grand space sci-fi game, X Rebirth, has announced a permanent price drop. Additionally, as the game moves to update 3.50, a free-to-play weekend for that iteration, as well as the entire X series, will be held on March 13 to March 15, 2015 on Steam."
Damn, that sucks, I am glad I waited though! Currently I own all of the X games, but was waiting on this one.
