Blacklight: Retribution Has Become My Most-Played PS4 Launch Title

Blacklight: Retribution, a free-to-play first-person shooter, launched side-by-side with the PlayStaiton 4 late last week and, surprisingly, it’s the game I find myself going back to most frequently these past few days.

I downloaded BLR, but haven't checked it out yet. It was just.. THERE and I was looking to get all I could out of my PS4, so I downloaded it with really no interest in playing it. After reading this article, I'll definitely be checking it out after I finish playing Assassin's Creed IV.

UHHH i actually have played the other KZ and after a few weeks of playing (SP & MP) its gets BORING just like COD and BF. doesnt matter if people are still online the game is still boring after awhile of playing it, dont get butthurt.

no, its not better than killzone its just and easy to jump into an play kind of game so if you are looking for a short relaxing and enjoyable quick session of gameplay i can imagine people choosing to jump into blacklight over killzone

Kinda like the cod effect for me. I like bf4 way more but cod is quick to get in and out so ill pop it in if I only have a couple of minutes to play.

Not trying to knock the merits of the game, because I downloaded it and intend to give it a go, but if the Playstation 4 didn't completely break Battlefield 4 for most players (myself included), I have a feeling it would be a little different. I'm pretty sure people are having the same problem with COD: Ghosts as well.

It makes sense, though, since everyone that bought a PS4 got a month of PS+ and it's free.

Could you enlighten us as to how the PlayStation 4 broke Battlefield? As far as I know, PC version is a complete disaster, and EA is putting out a patch next week on the PS4. Sounds like a developer issue to me.

The 1.50 Patch broke games. We all know that. BF4 crashes, Ghosts was crashing, I've had crashes in Killzone as well. Sony broke the games with the patch, and now the developers have to patch their games to get them working again. Now you can complain about the speed in which EA is getting the patch out.. That would be fair considering Ghosts has already been patched.

@Rev-T So did the 1.50 update affect the PC versions BF4 and COD as well? Both of which are on record to have persistent problems on PC (Crashing, Extreme FPS drops, lag...etc). Guerilla has stated that they are putting out a patch to improve performance, yes. However, I'm about 8 chapters in to the story and have easily logged in about 20 hrs on the KZ MP. I have experienced one crash. Point is...devs do not patch according to faulty FW updates. Sounds more like FUD than facts.

When I finally got it to connect, and it finally found a game, it was fun but at the same time it seems like everyone is made of tissue paper and dies within 1 or 2 bullets.

Personally I like Shadow Fall more, but they two are very different in playstyle so it's a nice distraction every once and a while.

Have only been able to mess around with the practice mode. Wanted to play a few rounds last evening but continue to just get a searching for game icon. I waited a few minutes and started up bf4. Hopefully I will be able to get into a match soon.

off-topic: cinemablend has to be the most pro-Sony site outside of actual PS sites, n4g and sonygaf. Just an observation from weeks of biased articles.
