Jokes aside. This really is un-fricken-believable! The graphics are incredible and it moves like silk. IMO this is hands down the best looking game I've seen so far and it's an open world game.

I actually think if they made the camera slightly closer up and the gameplay slower and more physics based like Uncharted it would be more cinematic and immersive experience. Also the weapons and destructibility should be fine- tune so that every projectile I shoot out should feel like I'm doing massive damage. The destructibility of the environments should have more weight to it. When the bridge fell down it looked like it was plastic or glass breaking.

With that said this is the best looking and playing game that is near the launch window.

7 guys with guns shooting at you, no one hits you, is not good gameplay. FFS gaming has gone in the toilet. no more consequences, regen health, auto aim....looks more like a face roll one a keyboard or controller to me.

These are light light level enemies, there's tons of them all shooting at you at once, it would make no sense to have your character easily killed by these minions.
Infamous has always been a game where you only get killed because of be overwhelmed by the enemy numbers. The higher class enemies and bosses are the only ones that should be able to kill you one-on-one and even the bosses typically have help from minions/pawns.

The game looks fun to me, wish the player did more melee attacks and stringed some combos but that just a play style preference. The chain whip attacking looks great but he barely showed it.

Errmm RDR didnt do it for me, I liked alot of it but hated Mexico, from the uninteresting revolutionary storyline to the boring terrain and Marston constantly being let down by the character in searching for Dutch

I loved Arkham City but that was smaller and had a more personal feel to it and a detailed world ful of easter egggs, games like Infamous, Prototype, Just Cause, Crackdown just bore me

I dont consider Arkham Asylum an open world game, more like a Metroidvania one

They haven't shown much of the game yet, so I'm not saying any of this isn't going to be in it.
A more alive city would be better, this looks pretty stale compared to GTA5 for example.
the usage of anti-hero elements against the hero, like if they would spray water at you.
getting around didn't change at all, it's still jumping and then gliding,or repeatedly jumping to climb structures. You would think that with different powers it would be at least a bit different.
maybe your main attack being not the exact same as cole's but with smoke, maybe shorter range or a constant stream of smoke.
really just anything that would make the game feel new.

I think what would be great for this game is if they did multiple recordings of the dialogue. One version where the words are spoken regular like here. But then also a version of the same lines but sounding out of breath and high on adrenaline. Then depending on what you're doing the game would switch between the two.

It was a bit weird seeing him cause all this mayhem and running around but talking with his brother like he's getting some groceries. I think Uncharted managed this quite well. But that was more scripted of course.

I also wish he would just turn his entire body at an earlier point. It often looks like he's facing forward but shooting behind him in an uncomfortable position.

I need dat neon power footage. It looks amazing as it is with the smoke. I'm liking how the physics look and the graphics are amazing, especially for an open world game.

I can't wait to see what other powers Delsin has access to. Those destructible environments :O

Your not cynical. You just call things like you see them. I said the same thing about Infamous 1....then I played. It's a solid 3rd person action franchise. It's one of those games you need to PLAY to understand why its good.

I think people here are exaggerating how good the visuals look though. They don't come across that well via Youtube's player. Looks MUCH better when I watch the gameplay trailer on my PS3 via the PS Store.

I wouldn't go as far to say that its a "console seller", but it most certainly looks like a worthy entry in the series.

Thanks logic, I'll take your advice and try it out maybe like you say it needs to be played to be appreciated. Admittedly I got my ps3 when GOW3 came out and never got round to playing the first infamous.
In all honesty from the YouTube video (not very good quality I know) I think the last of us looks better.

Its a shame it couldn't have been finished in time for launch just because it would give a much great variety for AAA games on Sony. I'm not the biggest fps fan besides battlefield so I'll see you people there :-)

TLOU without a shadow of a doubt has more detailed realistic looking character models..at least from what I've seen so far.

A lot of that might have to do with the art style Sucker Punch is going for with this game though. It doesn't look like they are trying to go for realism.

But yeah, try it out. I think Infamous 2 has a demo on PSN.

Never in 1 million years, back when I was playing pong, did I ever imagine graphics would ever get this good. I cannot believe what I am seeing with this video. I love the lead characters personality, it makes him feel alive and not as one-dimensional as most video game characters do.

I hope they announce tonight that this game is coming out in January or February. Can you imagine if they announced that it was in stores today and we could pick it up with our new systems? There would be a frenzy of millions of people out roaming the streets looking for a PlayStation on day one.

I'm still in shock. Some great games heading our way and it all begins tonight.

The way he played it, yes. The way inFamous 1 & 2 can be played, no. I have no doubt Second Son will play the same, mix up all abilties and inFamous let's you be that badass comicbook superhero you always wanted to be. Well not exactly, but still very cool. The game gets better with every power you unlock, use them if you want to get the max out of this beautifull playground.

I think i know what he means....the way its incorporated into the sounds of the game, the dialogue itself is fine...but it doesn't sound like its in-game, it sounds like its not coming out of Delsin's mouth, instead it sounds like its being playing over the top of the game.

it was what I was thinking... maybe it's not the acting but how the sound is played, it doesn't sound credible. I'm pretty sure troy baker is capable of delivering great acting, so this is the only explanation I have.
The transition between cutscene a gameplay was also pretty weird.

while ragdoll is lacking/missing, there is some physics applied to the bodies making them independent physics objects when they fly around. meaning instead of your standard falling animation, they will also turn, roll, and tumble through the air like a ragdoll only the body will be animated while doing so. i've noticed it in every video and while it's not quite ragdoll, it's a neat feature that certainly adds to the game

This is amazing. The effects when he shoots have been improved. All the particles effects have been improved. Water pouring on the ground was cool.
People complain about this game, AI, and so on.
But if you could see them after, you'll noticed the're all playing CoD, BF... all those generic titles with very average AI, health regen and all the BS.
