Not planning on picking this up so may as well watch it lol. From what I've seen and heard I'm not missing out on much. It's a shame cause the last good cod I played and owned was cod4.

thrust3850d ago

Bad Fps issues is the rumour.

GarrusVakarian3850d ago (Edited 3850d ago )

Due to lazy developing. There are games on both next gen consoles that look miles better than Ghosts but Ghosts runs at 720p on X1 and dips below 60fps on PS4. Something smells fishy.

@Thrust

Agreed, that's been their motto for years.

thrust3850d ago

Is because it will sell no matter what they do

Flutterby3850d ago

Even the pc is having frame rate issues, there is even articles about it right now on N4G , nice try trolling tho thrust.

Pintheshadows3850d ago (Edited 3850d ago )

I'm getting frame drops on PC. It is awfully optimised. I have a GTX 770, I73770K and it is still struggling at times. The autosave frame dip (something that should have been erased long ago) is present as well.

I have no idea what IW has done but this supposedly 'new and improved engine' is poor and frankly graphics wise is best described as adequate. Some of the textures are truly abysmal.

The part where the ODIN explodes and throws you out stuttered massively so I gave up. Luckily I have money to waste. I feel sorry for others who don't and buy this. It isn't worth it.

Go pick up Metro Last Light instead if you haven't. That game can tell a story, is beautiful, and the set pieces don't turn you into a spectator. I hate this 'LOOK AT WHAT WE DID, LOOK AT IT!!!' attitude developers have now.

Hell, Half Life basically invented the modern idea of the set piece and you could wander about and miss things as you were in control and maybe looked away. That is how it should be.

It bothers me in every game, especially ones where the game is driven by its set pieces like CoD.

MWong3850d ago (Edited 3850d ago )

@thrust ... 2nd comment
Couldn't have said it better. COD is like the Madden of FPS games. It's the same game every year, but their fan base will keep on buying it no matter what they do.

I'll be renting it from GameFly. A 4 hour campaign doesn't do much for me, since I won't be playing the MP. Wow, the first 12 minutes of the game, is about 9 minutes of cutscenes.

Boody-Bandit3850d ago

This does not look like a next gen game at all. If you had a friend considering picking up a PS4 or X1 and popped this game in? They would stick with the PS3 and 360.

I wasn't expecting much since they are still using the same damn engine they have for the past several years but WTF. This game doesn't even look as good as Black Ops II.

Guess I'm taken this off the list on the 3 for 2 deal. Maybe I will replace it with N4S or ACIV.

mewhy323850d ago

looks awesome in 1080p at 60fps doesn't it?

Autodidactdystopia3850d ago

Well crap that was pretty entertaining.

Im not gonna lie and bash it. I never liked the mp on cod but that was pretty cool ;)

I know I know cod sucks and is gay and the same and old and not nextgen and horribly optimized, and unoriginal and stupid, and for the masses to buy year after year. And setpieces and scripted and quicktime and ugly and small scale

but still im not gonna lie that was a pretty cool sequence there ;)

Back Ops II SP was very good.

NarooN3850d ago

Black Ops 1 had a nice story. Black Ops 2 started off decent, then turned into pure garbage the moment Menendez somehow became the most powerful terrorist ever just because he was butthurt that his sister died (which was his fault anyway.)

The_KELRaTH3850d ago

In my head I was comparing to BF3 SP :)

JoGam3850d ago

I just laugh when I see astronauts in space with guns having a gun fight. The posibility of that happening.

Sharingan_no_Kakashi3850d ago

Well they certainly know how to weave a dramatic story. Graphics wise though, if it were a ps3 game I'd be pleasantly impressed.

12 minutes ? that's almost half the singleplayer campaign.

All Call of Duty Games Ranked from Worst to Best

BLG writes: "Call of Duty has to be the most recognizable franchise on the planet. They didn’t get that way by only making a handful of games.

COD has a long and storied career. Launching as a PC WW2 first-person shooter, Call of Duty has gone through numerous makeovers and been on just about every system. The series has gone through some serious highs and tragic lows. I’ll be looking at each Call of Duty game, the good the bad, and the ugly."

Vanguard better be at the fkn bottom. Can’t believe ppl haven’t eviscerated that game with all its lacking

Minimoth824d ago

Yeah, it's close to the bottom. There are a couple of worse ones. Infinite Warfare definitely deserves its place.

KyRo824d ago

There's a number a lot worse than Vangaurd. It's also a lot better than that car crash Treyarch released before it.

XbladeTeddy824d ago

World at War is my favourite. Didn't know the N-Gage had a Call of Duty.

MadLad824d ago

Same for me.
I was never huge into Call of Duty, but I sunk a lot of time into WaW.
Both the campaign and the multiplayer are on point. Wouldn't mind a remaster.

I quit on CoD for a long while. Though I'm the odd man out that actually really enjoyed the campaign for WWII, being I got it through Humble monthly way back when.

TheLigX824d ago

I really enjoyed the Infinite campaign. Multiplayer... not so much.

Yppupdam824d ago

I agree, The Infinite campaign feels more like it's own thing that they slapped the CoD name on. If it stood on it's own, (sans the CoD name) I think it could have been it's own scifi franchise. And a damn good looking game, to boot. I never bothered to play the multiplayer.

victorMaje824d ago

MW 2019 apart from the desastrous file sizes is way better than AW.

MadLad824d ago

That was one I grabbed for Playstation because it pretty much just came out during the Redbox purge of videogames, and I got it for dirt cheap.

It was great coming home to an update every night, and watching one game eat up almost half my console's memory.

Amplitude824d ago (Edited 824d ago )

Will get disagrees but Infinite Warfare campaign was really good. Decent story, set pieces were amazing and if it didn't have the CoD game on it I'm sure people would have been more into it. Advanced Warfare was alright too. Titanfall 2 was just 1000 times better than both but I enjoyed them for their campaigns. I literally barely gaf about the story I'm in it for the set pieces and 5 hours of being stoned watching cool nonsense happen if I'm in the mood to play a CoD campaign. If I'm looking for a deep plot I'm gonna go somewhere else.
Ghosts was the worst story-wise though lol that cliffhanger ending was so bs.

Also MW 2019 was sick and is one of the best CoD games in yeeeears not sure why it's so low on this dude's list. Campaign was great, multiplayer was great and Warzone was fun for a while. Over it now but shrugs.

Beat the Vanguard campaign too but I can't even remember a single thing about it other than that it felt like it was 45 minutes long. Might be the most forgettable thing I've ever played lol just fully erased from my brain

Wore implementation I've ever seen,.. guess it just does not work all that great on every engine

MarkyMark891786d ago (Edited 1786d ago )

Agree, but this gives me hope that one day Ray Tracing can be a software based feature and not require some type of proprietary hardware to achieve. Software will always outpace Hardware so it could happen, but I feel like its going to take a lot more time to achieve the same level that RTX has already shown glimpses of so far. Really just waiting for Cyberpunk to see if RTX is actually something viable. I think if anybody can truly showcase RTX Features it would be Projekt Red.

zeal0us1786d ago

Too bad it doesn't make Mankind Divided a better game.

starchild1786d ago

It doesn't need to, the game was already fantastic, imo.

zeal0us1785d ago

Human Revolution was a better game and not to mention longer.

isarai1786d ago

Reshade is not raytracing, its a screen space post processing effect. Thats like calling SSAO "global illumination"
