IGN- WWE 2K14 Review

IGN:It still lacks the brains to deliver competent AI and commentators, but WWE 2K14 has more than enough brawn to make up for it. 30 Years of Wrestlemania provides the strongest campaign backbone the series has had in a long time, the in-ring action is faster and more fluid than it's been in years, and thanks to WWE 2K14's continually expanding creation suite, we’re swimming in more options than we ever knew we wanted. It is indeed “time to play the game.”

8.7 is a pretty good score.

seriously this game lack the excitement feel like here come the pain, day reckoning, & raw is war had

BLAKHOODe3872d ago

Here Comes the Pain and No Mercy..

I'll admit those were 2 of the best wrestling games in their day, but I wonder how many people that CONSTANTLY bring those games up every single year a new WWE game comes out actually still play them. I use to LOVE No Mercy, but when I played it about a year or so ago, I discovered that my gaming taste had changed and the game wasn't as good as I remembered it being.

But the great thing is, if you love those games you listed so much, nobody is stopping you from playing them. So, play them and don't worry so much about what's new.

I played it and I do not see a 8.7, I see a 5/10.

gotta agree i had fun with beyond 2 soul then 2k 14

WWE All Stars is the best wrestling this gen i think. This looks like junk!

BLAKHOODe3872d ago

All Stars was great and I've occassionally had the urge to play it again. I've been playing WWE 2K14 a few hours and, while I'm liking it, I think for a game at the end of current-gen consoles, it looks horrible graphically. I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt, because of the whole THQ bankruptcy deal, but 2K better step up their game for next year's next-gen release.

MadMax3872d ago (Edited 3872d ago )

Yea, bummed on the graphics and the gameplay looks not right. I like WWE All Stars because it reminds me alot of the old WWF wrestling in the arcades way back. Just updated with more fluid moves.

Big fan also of all the 80s WWF wrestlers. Back when wrestling had classic characters and was hilarious! I really was hoping for alot more dlc from All Stars. How bout some Paul Orndorff and The Magnificent Muraco!

I was always partial to the arcade wrestling games like Saturday night slam masters, wwf superstars, wrestlefest, wrestlemania, wrestle war and then a NES classic... pro wrestling. By the time the N64 era of wrestling games happened, I wasnt into wrestling much anymore (tv & games).

It was all about the Starman Somersault or the Tiger Claw!

Fist4achin867d ago

Starman was awesome. I also remember a tan dude with bright yellow hair. Good times!

Virtual Pro Wrestling 1 & 2 > Most games on that list.

Also, WCW/NWO Revenge should be #2 minimum.

Are Wrestling Games Getting Worse?

Some of you may know that the latest instalment in the WWE gaming franchise 2K20 was released late last year to generally poor reviews. Some of this was based on graphical issues, but mostly it was due to the many glitches and bugs found – many of which are hilarious to witness.

Fire Pro needs more love. The last PS4 title gets regular playtime from me.

I hear that there are financial troubles at the studio, but I'm hopeful for a Switch port one of these days.

Anyone remember Giant Gram Wrestling on the Dreamcast .....

Rambokind1600d ago

Ah hell yes! That was loads of fun.

Acecalibur1600d ago

Fire Pro just gets better. Buy it.

micdagoat191600d ago

I have Fire Pro for PS4 and PC but it seems more of like a Sim creator rather than people actually playing out matches. I still dont like anything as much as the N64 games
