Young Justice: Legacy canceled for Wii, Wii U

The Wii and Wii U versions of Young Justice: Legacy have been canceled. An update on the game's official Facebook page (via Nintendo Life) from developer Little Orbit explains that the decision was made because the platforms "presented challenges we couldn't overcome."

the wiiu should count itself lucky for dogeing that piece of shi%&

SilentNegotiator3834d ago

It's a generic 'run around and punch things with a chosen character' game. The kind uncreative companies make when they acquire a license.

It's a shame that the show got cancelled when it actually started to get good.

MoLarry sour grapes much?

Seriously there are people that still think all of these developers and publishers are just "out to get Nintendo" and that they are just being petty?

No one has made money on games for the Wii U- and there will always be a contingent of Nintendo fans that will have excuses as to why no matter how many games don t sell, or how many dev s have perfectly legit reasons for not going on the Wii U-

I own a Wii U a Wii and 3DS - no other consoles or handhelds - I want more games for the Wii U not less- but Nintendo has to get it together and create a viable environment for 3rd parties (as well as their own games)

Why did W 101 sell so poorly- Rayman sell poorly

the 3rd best selling game on the Wii U done by Ubisoft lost money = what does that say about the rest of the games on the system

SpiralTear3834d ago

I'm not arguing against the fact that Nintendo needs to appease third parties more, but Rayman Legends sold poorly due to a heavy amount of market competition from other, much bigger titles like GTA V. In fact, Rayman Legends sold BEST on Wii U.

I can't say I'm crushed that this game got canceled, but games are games, and the Wii U needs more of them.

Games are games, but this is a minor loss. WiiU still gets most of the season big hittters (Skylanders, Batman, COD, Disney Infinity, AC4...). The only real punches in the stomach of the system are heavyweight players like GTA, big sport franchises and important niche titles like Rocksmith etc. Nintendo should work harder or pay the dues if they must to get those, because they sell on every system. All the rest is really not that much to keep.

I applaud your support for Nintendo and Wii U. However, you should think about picking up another platform to broaden your gaming.

I wish more people were buying the Wii U and its games. Some of the upcoming games are brilliant and like no other on any other platform.

The same can be said for others. PC and Wii U looking like a bountiful harvest to plant this season.

SpiralTear3834d ago

I agree. The Wii U is not a bad system, but there are games on other systems worth checking out as well. The Nintendo exclusives are superb, but Sony has some interesting stuff on the way too, and even the Xbox One has some games coming that look neat.

Variety is the spice of life.

Just saw that Rayman Legends was the 2nd best Seller on the Wii U in Japan (released exclusively for the wii U in Japan and published by Nintendo)in its 1st week (of Oct 14) and sold less than 1,500 units

I don t know much about the Young Justice game, if it is supposed to be good or not- but it looks to be aimed at the younger audience which is why I have a Wii U in my home- for my kids (I m just a tag along gamer that likes to follow the industry and play Monster Hunter ) Having 1 fewer game targeted at my kids demographic is a loss IMO

Unless it is shovelware which it would indeed not be a loss

wheresmymonkey3834d ago

third parties are an issue for the wiiU, and one that every insider i have spoken to has been pretty cagey about. the best answer i got was from a producer at volition who said that it was just so much easier and cheaper to devlop for the ps3/360 because their architecture and support is at similar levels. So sadly nintendo don't get a look in.

But i'm not sure that its going to be an issue as far as the consoles success is concerned in the long run. I can honestly see nintendo turning things around in the near future by dragging so many quality first and second party exclusives onto the system that it becomes viable as a second console.

So what it wont have the witcher 3 or the evil within. it'll be the only place you can play bayonetta 2, X, mario, zelda and NMH3.

thats the master plan. the xbone and ps4 are going to have very little different so as to make owning both almost pointless, but the wiiU is a very different propostion indeed.

I was hoping to see Arkham Origin in the sale.

Arkam Asylum and Arkham City for $5 a piece is an absolute steal if you've never played those games. Even if you're not a fan of Batman (how could you not be?), they're still good games.

harrisk9543567d ago

Arkham City for free (on PS+) is an even better deal. ;)

Volkama3567d ago

Debatable. Paying for a rental isn't directly comparible to buying a game.

CorndogBurglar3567d ago

@ volkama

I'm sorry, I don't remember ever having to give back any of my free PS+ games.

Volkama3567d ago

CorndogBurglar, I'm all for rental services and such. I don't personally care for ownership of games and I don't plan to drop my subscriptions.

I am just pointing out that it isn't so cut and dry as to which is the better value deal, because "Arkham City for free" is a bit of a falacy.

Personally I would LOVE for the consoles to have a all-access subscription packages to play whatever you want (ie a games equivalent of netflix and such). I'd pay a lot for that.

mcstorm3567d ago

@CorndogBurglar what he means is if you stop paying for PS+ you lose your PS+ games which means you are paying to rent them just like you do if you have a Prime or Netflix account.

Some good deals in there too nice to see Microsoft offer the discount for Gold now and I hope we start to see more and more on the xbox one soon too.

If you really want Batman games on the cheap

Sony has a nice deal going on right now
https://store.sonyentertain...

Batman AA, Batman Origin, Batman Origins Blackgate all for $4.20 each.

neil3633567d ago

Aye, a bit disappointing to see just the Origins Season Pass in there. The game would have been nice.

Agree totally on Asylum and City....loved them both.

optimus3567d ago

Glad they threw in the Injustice season pass. Now i can dust it off and put a few hours back into it.

oKidUKo3567d ago

Looks like there's a few more now, will be getting Raven episodes. They're at a decent price.

Volkama3567d ago (Edited 3567d ago )

Some good deals there. Maybe if I wait long enough I will be able to get decent games for decent prices on the Xbox One and PS4 as well. It isn't like they become less fun a year or two down the line.

Young Justice: Legacy Review (GodisaGeek)

Posted by James Bowden

Over the past couple of years I’ve taken the Warner Bros name to be one of quality when it comes to video games. Warner Bros have ensured that Batman found the games he deserved in the form of the Arkham series, they whipped NetherRealm back into shape for Mortal Kombat and Injustice, and they’ve produced plenty of other nice titles too, such as the ever entertaining Scribblenauts. A strong position indeed for a name more commonly associated with motion pictures.
