Rogue came out in 1980. For 33 years now we have been using its name to describe a genre. This has gone on far too long. It’s time to stop using roguelike.

Snafu on Intellivision and Time Pilot on Coleco Vision and Pitfall+Jungle Hunt on Atari2600 we’re the games I spent the most time with on those consoles. I had many other games but those were my favorites.

Atari was cool as a kid but nothing Atari has done since then has been very good. Maybe they turn it around someday and release something worthwhile software wise but I wouldn’t bank on it.
