Indeed. Good to see more games supporting PhysX 3.0 (instead of its older versions)

Make People believe that Physx isn't a gimmick. Proof to us all, that it can make a sexy shower scene.

Nvidia did made that Sexy Mermaid Demo for GeForce™ 6800.

Next gen PC games only. ~Article

john23851d ago

Article has been updated. Hmmmmmmm, seems that the PC build of UE4 will support PhysX 3.0 (with certainty). Curious as to why there is silence regarding the console front (could be cause of the fact that they're using AMD's GPUs?)

Pandamobile3851d ago

Most likely. Getting GPU accelerated PhysX working on consoles would likely require some collaboration between Nvidia and AMD.

Except for Nvidia already said they are supporting the ps4 with Apex and PhysX

Pandamobile3850d ago

But not with GPU acceleration. Next-gen consoles support PhysX the same way current gen does. It's calculated on the CPU.

limewax3851d ago (Edited 3851d ago )

Well PhysX 3.0 on consoles could of course be a hard sale to Nvidia, but it's also a perfect match since 3.0 has significantly better performance than the previous builds.

Unfortunately even if it did end up on the consoles though, it probably wouldn't perform quite as well as on its native cards. Plus it would still be incredibly power hungry. Even a high end card normally needs a middle end card as back up to max PhysX settings on games that use it heavily, especially when paired with tessellation.

I doubt the console GPU's could push it all too well right now. Maybe a few years down the line though with some more optimization to the source code.

cunnilumpkin3851d ago

it likely won't be happening on consoles, not because of the NVidia/amd thing

more likely because ps4/xbox1 have laptop gpu's in them

Fans??? This is done by one person

WoodsRatesGames1093d ago

Someone else was commissioned to do the music and another person modelled the batmobile. Links to all involved are included in the article.

They should have been made a batman game for the best batman movie. This looks amazing and now I must watch the movie.

Am I crazy or is there an Unreal Engine 5 now? Why promote old tech?

waverider1114d ago

I really dont understand either? isnt the Unreal Engine 5 already available for studios? arent they already working with it?

masterfox1114d ago

UE5 Is for PS5 only, deal with it! :D

***runs away from this thread with pride!**

Tacoboto1114d ago

UE5 is not released yet and developers for years will still make UE4 games because that's where their tools and customizations are.

Mortal Kombat still uses UE3. Mass Effect Legendary Edition is also still UE3.

Magog1114d ago

That more of an embarrassing indictment of those devs than a reason to promote old software.

Tacoboto1114d ago

Embarrassing indictment? You know nothing of software development then.

Spenok1114d ago (Edited 1114d ago )

Because a ridiculous amount of the industry still uses 4, and because no, 5 is not out yet. They said it would launch later this year.

AuraAbjure1114d ago

Companies still use Unreal Engine 3.

Really impressive tech but I don’t even notice all of these benefits in real life, never mind being chased by zombies in a video game. Rather devote resources to resolution and frame rate.

Magog1114d ago

If you suddenly stopped casting reflections in a mirror I think you would notice.

Yes after seeing the Unreal 5 ps5 reveal, I thought that's where we were heading. But saying that I have read various articles that suggest its easy for developers to still work on Unreal 4 and carry everything over to Unreal 5 when needed, we shall see.
