Nintendo enters the critical holiday selling season with strong momentum, as Nintendo 3DS finished as the best-selling video game system in the U.S. for the fifth consecutive month and Wii U enjoyed new momentum following a price cut.
Nintendo Has Acquired Shiver Entertainment From Embracer Group
Great news it shows that Nintendo intends to continue developing ports of AAA games to its next gen platform
Buying studios from embracer now is a great deal, they must be dirt cheap at this point, Nintendo is a opportunist, they wait until someone fall so they get their best deal
I hope someone buys Piranha Bytes, their future isn't looking good right now. I love their RPGs, they're janky as f***, but they have heart and soul.
Nintendo saw the Mortal Kombat 1 Switch port and were like, "Yeah, these guys are worth acquiring."
You can't make this crap up lol
Game developers have already started to confirm that they will support the Nintendo Switch 2 with their future titles.
Hanzala from eXputer: "As Nintendo takes out 20 years' worth of stuff from Garry's Mod, I watch in shock, thinking why it continues to hurt and discourage its fans."
The irony that some of the most disgusting business practices come from companies like Disney or Nintendo, i can't even begin to understand what terrible damage was Garrys Mod making to Nintendo bottom line, imho they're getting pretty nervous about where they're heading in the future, handhelds are no longer something exclusive to Nintendo, from Steam Deck to many others, now you can play the latest games and pay a fraction of the price on Steam sales, so it's up to their exclusives, which just on their own would make hard to justify purchasing a closed overpriced hardware with outrageous price policies (Super Mario Odyssey is still 60 euro 6 years later!), and as a home console they're always underperforming compared to Sony or Xbox.
Look at how they handled Nintendo games being streamed or uploaded on YouTube in the past. They killed Yuzu and Citra even when they had nothing to do with ToTK being leaked, not to mention it was basically unplayable on emulation the week it was leaked. Smash Bros tournament, that was fairly recent. They shut down their online services without any care for purchases made. I bought a switch after skipping their last 2 consoles and handhelds but I don't plan on buying anything Nintendo in the future. They take things to the extremes, they legitimately hate their fans. They're honestly right up there with the likes of Acti, EA, and Ubi, only difference is that they disguise themselves as being family friendly all the while being shady.
I will buy the Wii U deluxe when it hits $150. That's my "buy" price for that, and I can wait a very long time.
Wow what happened to all the Sony and Xbox fanboys? very silent you neigh Sayers.
Love games and stop being bias.
I will have all three again and it will be very expensive. no xbox one till price drop though.
GoNintendo. people speak with their wallets not raw power.
What I find funny about this, is that people are actually talking about Nintendo going 3rd party in the future.
And they do that right after Nintendo has released THREE systems that are outselling everything. No matter how great a sony or microsoft fanboy you are, the Wii was the best selling console in its generation. And on top of that, Nintendo OWNS the handheld sector. The DS and now the 3DS are selling like crazy.
The WiiU of course is just getting started. You can never judge the sales of a system by looking at its first year (as seen with ps3, 3DS etc.).
What people really should be thinking: When is Sony going 3rd party? If the PS4 isnt a huge success, that is a possibility imho. PS3 sold alot in the last 1-2 years. But for a VERY long time they were selling the console at a loss. I don't know the numbers but I'd say overall the PS3 was a financial failure. And then of course the Vita...
We have one company that had 3 HUGE successes, and we have a company that had 2 failures. Makes sense that the one with the successes would go 3rd party yeah?
I dont really care btw. I'm mainly a PC gamer but I have consoles from all companies. If you ask me - all companies should go 3rd party, because then I can play all the games with better graphics and the controller I prefer on my PC.
People were hoping the WiiU would be Nintendo's return to the SNES eras level of awesomeness but the 3ds has already arrived. It has the best library a systems ever had this early in its life. This year alone had Fire Emblem, SMT, Luigis Mansion, Project X Zone, Rune Factory 4, Soul Hackers, Etrian Odyssey 4 and Untold, Pokemon, Zelda, Bravely Default, Donkey Kong, Mario and Luigi Dream Team, Animal Cossing and a dozen other big titles. I'm broke as hell recently because of the release schedule, so many great games so close together.
Now with the 3ds xl as a premium model and the 2ds which is a budget system for people who may want one or two games like the new Zelda or Pokemon there's no reason not to own one. It may not be the most powerful system but its got games for days.
Man I love the 3DS, glad it's selling well. Hope it ends up having as epic a library as the DS.
