Strider returns to solo action at New York Comic Con 2013 (2D-X)

Strider is an oddball character. Not in terms of design, but in his historical importance. Strider’s ninja-tastic abilities and cool flapping scarf has the makings of a near-iconic video game character, but he hasn’t appeared in a good Strider game since the PlayStation‘s Strider 2. It’s been a long time since Hiryu took to action in a game that bore his name — Strider 2 was released in 1999 — but he’s slated to return to action in the simply named Strider.

The Double Helix-developed Strider — set to hit the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in early 2014 — serves as a series reboot with the familiar mecha and desolate locales in place. It looks good.

I will be there, will be my third time going to nycc.

Already reserved the deluxe edition of the game, just waiting for it to be downloadable then unlocked.

Huey_My_D_Long221d ago

I like this game...but....ngl seeing alot news about costumes for promotional work is not exciting.

neomahi220d ago

....... How is it exclusive when the game is only on PS5? That's a rather liberal use of the word and really takes away from what it represents. Exclusive is just a word now, it used to actually mean something. Once timed-exclusive came about, it lost its pop

BlaqMagiq1220d ago

I think they mean as in never before seen anywhere Spider-Man related and will debut in the game.

CobraKai220d ago

Could be this. It’s the only explanation. Or the reveal itself is a Con exclusive?

Was there a comic-con suit in the last game? I could be wrong, but it was a cel-shaded (at least I think that’s the one) and it was one of my favorite suits to use.

I welcome all these suits! Hope there’s even more! I enjoyed switching out suits throughout the last game.

Dante's inferno... an excellent GoW inspired game. So sad the sequels will never be.

LoveSpuds565d ago (Edited 565d ago )

I recall enjoying it well enough at the time, but it wasn't a patch on God of War 3 which came out around the same time I think.

I own it and fired it up on my PS3 about 6 months ago and time hadn't been particularly kind to it although it still very much nailed the atmosphere and it is a cool as he'll setting and universe.

Inverno565d ago

Dante's Inferno needs the GOW treatment. No cut camera, with a real hellish depiction of the 9 circles and a story as dark and as serious would be amazing.

Yui_Suzumiya565d ago

Still pretty amazing there was a PSP version that was actually pretty good. I remember playing it 10 years ago. I had the PS3 version when it first came out and loved it.

Ahh the memories of playing Heavenly Sword
Such a amazing experience

LoveSpuds565d ago

Yup, I remember being blown away with Heavenly Sword. I remember holding out hope that they would go back and add trophy support as a incentive to go back and replay the game, but I don't think they ever did?

Yui_Suzumiya565d ago

I couldn't beat the final boss though! Spent several days trying but eventually gave up, lol. Still enjoyed it though.

refocusedman565d ago

heavenly sword was such a short, but amazing game. that game should be prime material to be made into a download only remaster.

I really enjoyed Castlevania, but struggled to get into it again reattempting it a few years back. I still think it does another of things well; story, presentation, level varietily and art style at least. Gameplay maybe has not stood test of time unfortunately which makes it a chore to get through.
