World Wildlife Fund doesn't make games...silly. ;)

JeriKane19983854d ago

Hahahaha... I still remember when they had to change into WWE. I was so angry at the WWF. But now, 11 years later, I realize the change wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

I'd always create so many superstars. ..

JeriKane19983854d ago

Me too! I'd always try to make Jerry Lawler, Big Show, and a few others. Even when I hadn't unlocked the proper parts. I was also never good at making movesets. :/ I'm still pretty bad. I download them from CC now.

History Of Wrestling Games

John from the video games " Wrestling is a combat sport involving grappling type techniques such as clinch fighting, throws and takedowns, joint locks, pins and other grappling holds. Well it is that but under the banner of WWE which is the biggest franchise out there it is known as Sports Entertainment."

Because you were a child when you played them.

Tecmo's WWF Wrestlefest in the arcades was awesome. Then Royal Rumble and WWF Raw came out on consoles and were pretty great too.

But Power Move Pro Wrestling on the PS1 trumps all.

Smackdown on PS1 was my favorite.

Memorable Music in Gaming #5

Chalgyr's Game Room writes:

In our continuing effort to try and bring more than just reviews, previews, retros and news to the table, we have another Memorable Music in gaming. This one has a decidedly older school feel to it.

Legend of Zelda (NES) - Main theme

How do you define epic? Different people from various walks of life will come up with own definitions, but gamers will surely point to the original Legend of Zelda on the NES and nod in a matter-of-fact way. There's no doubt the classic, cinematic main score is among gaming's most iconic and legendary!

The All Time Greatest Wrestling Games

Esteban Cuevas of Metal Arcade writes:

Remember in the late 90′s when professional wrestling became extremely popular again? I do. I was a big fan of the WWF back then, now called the WWE. My favorite wrestler was The Rock. He was powerful, yet agile. Although I loved watching Raw every Monday and eventually Smackdown on Thursdays, the main reason why I was into wrestling was the games. Although at the time I focused on the WWF titles, I grew curious and not much later I tried the WCW games. Both companies made incredible games and their respective developers did a good job to distinguish the two; however I will say that THQ is the king of wrestling games. There’s a reason that they’ve made every WWE game for over a decade. Regardless of developer, wrestling games are an important segment of video game history and was a new genre for the medium. Some say wrestling games are fighting games or sports games. I think they’ve created their own genre.

Omg I spent many hours playing the games on this list. So much fun

MetalArcade4265d ago

I loved No Mercy the most. I would love an HD remake of that. Hell, I'd love to see a HD COllection of all the PS2 games as well

Rattlehead204265d ago

Omg! WcW/NWO Revenge! <3 Best wrestling game ever. Closely followed by No Mercy.

SnakePayne4265d ago

all new wrestling games are crap as f*ck *_*

smallz4265d ago

What about WWF Wrestlemania 2000? It was the predecessor to No Mercy and should at least get a honorable mention. It's funny just a day ago I was telling my girlfriend how I drove an hour away in the middle of the night just to find a 24 hour Walmart that had it in stock.

MetalArcade4264d ago

I didn't write the article, but if I had, it would definitely be in there! I remember buying it day 1 at Toys R Us when I was like 11.
