Fond Memory: Why Nights Captured My Imagination

Nights into Dreams still stands as one of the greatest games of its generation. It was the 21st highest selling game in Japan during 1996. He/she has shown up in Sega Superstars, Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing, Sonic pinball, and several other games. Nights is a classic from the beginnings of 3D gaming, and it will eternally remain one of my favorite, most nostalgic, gaming experiences that I'll keep for a lifetime.

Nights is a vastly underrated accomplishment by Sega, the background story is purely captivating and the story gets told in a simplistic fashion that has meaningful depth. I love how each dream represents and obstacle and the conclusion gives the child the mental break through to conquer their deepest fears.

Personally I thought the Wii remake did unintentionally tarnish the character. Including a voice and turning Nights female went against the original design. Nights was supposed to reflect the gender of the child.

Like you this is a game I'll never forget, loved it back on the Saturn and love it today on Xbox Live Arcade.

I agree, Nights is seriously underrated! It really deserves more recognition, than it received. Everything about it was wonderful.

I couldn't get myself to play the Wii version. I felt like it tainted the characters, a bit much. I heard Night's voice, and then heard Reala's, and it just killed it for me.

Truly an unforgettable game. I have the HD version on PS3, and I still love it! Thank you for reading :)

The music in this game incredible. I first played it a few years ago, and it really is a magical game.

Oh yes, the music is brilliant! The ending song still gives me chills, and all the boss themes still get me amped up, especially Reala's theme. I don't think there's a single song I didn't like. Thank you for reading :)

Still have it for my Sega Saturn and nights 2 for the Wii. Amazing game.

Yeah! I still own it for the Sega Saturn, too. Along with the Nights Analog controller, which I think is the most comfortable controller eve made:) But, it is nice to play the game in HD, too. Thank you for reading :)

I have the PSN HD version also. That analog remote you speak of, is the best for Resident Evil 1 for Sega Saturn. Good times!!

I finally replaced the av cable for mine a few weeks ago after years of sitting in my closet, been playing nights of course and alone in the dark going to pop in virtua fighter along side my eclipse stick and kick some serious ass....ah the memories..

jjevangelista3880d ago

Very nice:) Nights is still a game I go back to, sometimes. Oh my gosh, Virtua Fighter? That's awesome! Haven't played that in years. I loved the Saturn! It had a pretty amazing library of games. I agree, very good memories there! Thanks for reading:)
