Timing can be everything, and with Mighty No. 9 getting funded far beyond Keiji Inafune’s wildest dreams, it shows that there’s still a strong market for Mega Man-style gameplay. ARES gave PC fans a taste of that style a couple of years ago, but gave it a twin stick shooter mechanic that allowed for more accurate aiming.
Hardcore Gamer: ARES is an incredible Mega Man/Metroid hybrid, and its development team is returning with something a bit different. So Many Me is a puzzle-platformer starring Filo and his clones. These little green balls take part in an adventure inspired by The Lost Vikings, with a bit of Lemmings thrown in.
Hardcore Gamer: Steam's week-long game sales can be a great way to catch up on games you might've missed out on over the past few years. The sale's biggest releases include ARES: Extinction Agenda for $2.50 instead of $10, or you can get the Complete Edition for 50 cents more and get an OST and some bonus suits.
Lots of stragglers this week, but the boys manage to still talk about Taco Bell.
