Eeeeeh, I don't really like the look of that. I thought it was going to look kind of like the concept art- more cartoony, and sort of Rayman legends-esque, and sort of like Blaz Blue I think (the way the camera spins around the characters revealing them to be 3d). I'm sure it'll change but at the moment it looks really unremarkable.

BiggCMan3867d ago

See i'm the complete opposite. I had zero interest in the game other than the fact that I was happy for the fans that love Mega Man, and some of my friends.

But now that I see this, and the 3D art style with some pretty good looking graphics, i'm REALLY interested in it. 2D puts me off games nowadays, I just grew up from liking it 20 years ago and i'm not into it any more.

Do you not think this just looks like something slapped together quickly in Unreal? (Which is what it is actually.) It just looks so bland and murky, and way too "real". I hope they "toon" it up a bit (no pun intended).

If they could make the game literally look like this: http://christian-gaming.com... It would be incredible.

KiRBY30003866d ago

@-Gespenst-

im disappointed too, i thought the game was going to be like that concept art. in fact, i used to think that was a screenshot from the game itself. :/

yami9303866d ago

I would love if this game was actually 2.5D a lot like the new Guilty Gear Xrd sign, where its complete 3D with a 2D perspective and 2D graphics / art style (also like the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm games minus the 2D perspective). I feel like it would be the best of both worlds and would look amazing this way, making it feel like the original Megaman games while adding more dynamic camera angles / effects if desired in Beck's transformations or special attacks etc.

Guilty Gear Xrd Sign for those who don't know it:

It's a nice screenshot, but I still like the video's style better, that's just me. I prefer 3D these days, that's all. I'm not big on side scrolling all together anymore like I used to be, but I do enjoy some of the 3D ones, and I hope they keep it this way.

TheFutureIsBlue3867d ago

@-Gespenst-

That is what I was hoping for too. The detail in that concept art is amazing and I wish they would go the Rayman Origins route. I love 2D for sidescrollers. If they do keep this I hope they make it more cartoony. Kind of like how New Super Mario Bros is 3D, but it has that cartoony look.

Starbucks_Fan3867d ago

This looks fun. Never played Mega Man game( I know not the same but similar obviously ) but I would like to try this out.

Kalebninja3867d ago

wooooooah you've never played megaman!? lol this is actually a spitting image he shoots and even jumps the same

Auron3867d ago (Edited 3867d ago )

Seen that No.9 was in 3d so I donated $200 to Shantae: Half-Genie Hero instead. this game should have been 2d like that concept art.

They said that this is not finalized and the final product probably won't look like this. This was just a rough engine test and isn't even part of the game. It's not actually gameplay of the official game.

Kalebninja3867d ago

dammit they call this a unique style? it doesnt look nice it should have been a half 2d half 3d or just full 2d game im not liking the look

Lol, I literally said that out loud when clicking on this article.

VersusDMC637d ago

Only tried the demos for both and mighty 9 looked atrocious. Megaman 11 was fun and polished. Never played both full versions but will see it they are on PS Extra when i get home.

Mostly get my megaman fix playing the azure gunvolt games and spin offs. And Maverick Hunter X on my Vita.

VersusDMC637d ago

Just tried Mighty No 9 again on PSExtra...graphics are atrocious and taking down enemies by dashing into them feels so hollow.

Kickstarter's Gaming Successes Prove Big Gaming Doesn't Know What Fans Want

Kickstarter has allowed game developers all over the world to bring their respective visions to life, while AAA Studios remains out of touch.

TheEnigma3131519d ago

This is very true. Companies like EA, UBI, MS seem to be disconnected from what fans want.

AK911519d ago

Um I’m not too sure about that check how well those games sold besides the money they got from Kickstarter they didn’t sell nearly as much as most games from publishers (AAA or not).

The unfortunate reality is these days games like Shenmue 3 and Bloodstained are incredibly niche and the only way it could survive is by use of a fan funded website like Kickstarter.

No Man's Sky had the most disappointing launch after the massive hype.

It also had the best turn around of any game.

Today it is basically a mammoth sandbox/city builder/space sim/casual podcast in the background meditative play. Love it right now.

smolinsk1526d ago (Edited 1526d ago )

But you jumped on the hype train without seeing what the game really came with.

Sean Murry absolutely caught up in the hype and talk about future stuff that wasen't there from the start.

But what i was promised before the game came out was an unlimited univers and everybody else was looking forward to just that and nothing else. So he gave us just that..that people could not see the true picture about an Early access kind of game was delusional, it was so clear it was not ready...

akaFullMetal1526d ago

CD3, and ff15, maybe shemue 3, I feel are more recent disappoinments than Duke nukem and perfect dark.

Anthem was predicted to be a failure from its beginning especially since the last game Bioware put out was the abomination called Andromeda.
