Sega: “No plans to release Phantasy Star Nova in the Western market”

Sega has no plans to bring the recently announced PlayStation Vita title Phantasy Star Nova over to the West, Sega of America told Sega Addicts.

Blame sega and SE, there are still good japanese companies which localize most of their games (ATLUS sadly acquired by sega, Tecmo Koei has localized almost all their Vita games)

I don't even know who to be mad with at this point. My choices are SEGA for not localizing or deciding to make this game any sooner, the western market for pushing away so many releases from the east in favor of COD style games, myself for not learning japanese or the internet for bringing this news to my eyeballs in the first place.

Sega are idiots when it comes to releasing games... They presume that all people in the west want is games like Sonic and Aliens Colonial Marines. They wonder why they don't really make and major money and the reason is that they want to cater mainly to Japan. Japan is a large country but it certainly isn't as big as USA. I live in UK which isn't big but would love some of Sega's titles like Yakuza 5 and Ishin, when it gets released for PS4.
Now if there are at least some people in UK like me who would love these games released over here then I can only imagine how many in US would want them too. Aliens CM was a big pile of crap and Sonic should just curl up into a blue ball and die already.
So games like Phantasy Star Nova and the Yakuza series should get released in the west as we want to enjoy them as much as the Japanese customers.

more get announced not coming to the west.

It gonna be another PSP situation.
After 2014 and all these Japan Only JRPG and games don't get localized then Vita may end up dying out completely by late 2015 and 2016.

But that just my two cents on it. It could change maybe not but yeah. The Future of Vita in the west is very slim.

You are actually very wrong about that also sure many games don't get localized but this just isn't for the PS Vita but at the same time the PS Vita has had a lot of Japanese games get localized. That could be the case in every consoles situation and if you actually cared about the Vita you would actually have seen the lot of Japanese games that actually were localized. There are always Japanese games that never get released here no matter what system you own unless it is the Xbox 360, that is an exception really since it isn't really popular in Japan anyway.

Gravity Daze was localized. Shuhei just confirmed the the sequel shown at TGS is also going to be localized. Toukiden is getting localized, Soul Sacrifice was localized, Ragnarok Odyssey was localized, PSO 2 (well supposed to be localized hopefully that is still happening), They said ACE and Delta would be localized, Battle of Z is getting localized. I could pick more but you get the point there are even weird little JRPG's on the Vita too can't pronounce their names but they were localized as well.

Even Sony had posted this in their Playstation blog not too long ago. Most of this information is there even most these games I even talking about you can find in older blog posts on the official Playstation blog.

They even said to contact @giocorsi on twitter to suggest games that you want or would like to be localized and that Sony will consider it.

So what you are saying has very little truth to it and why because you of all people think JRPG's are the only thing to keep the Vita alive outside of Japan? Are you joking, JRPG's are not nearly as popular in NA or EU as they are in Japan not anymore. They have never been a selling point for any of the new system as of late. Maybe back in the PS1 days your passive aggressive attempt at trolling would have worked but JRPG's have not had that type of popularity here probably since the PS1 and PS2 days.

So just ignore every other games that is released on the Vita, only JRPG's are worth playing and can sell the device? That sounds stupid for even systems selling in Japan even they have different genres of games that sell well and aren't all JRPG's. The 3DS is not selling on nothing but JRPG's in or outside of Japan either.

I know you love to go on and on about how the 3DS dominates everything. So it is funny especially from you, hearing you say a system cannot sell well unless it has JRPG's when I highly doubt the only games you play on your 3DS are all JRPG's or anyone else for that matter. First PSO2 they promised an English patch and they didn't do it, that's ok. PS Nova is announced, and I thought they will focus on localization for this, YET THEY REFUSED!!!
