'D4' on Xbox One is a surreal adventure that finally makes the case for Kinect gaming | The Verge

D4, which stands for Dark Dreams Don’t Die, is a murder mystery that shares a little DNA with the previous game from director Hidetaka "Swery" Suehiro. Deadly Premonition was a cult hit on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 despite — or perhaps because of — its shaky graphics, amateurish voice acting, and Twin Peaks-esque atmosphere. D4, Swery’s current project, is another TV show-inspired adventure with questionable production values, but the similarities largely end there.

Glad to see MS hooking up with Hidetaka "Swery" Suehiro and seeing the potential in his quirkiness.

Great addition to the Xbox One exclusive line up and also great to see the Kinect being used in such a way. hopefully this will show other devs the usefulness of Kinect and how it can immerse a player deeper in your game.

Good job MS and as always Xbox Won, Day One!

Immersiveness comes from the Occulus Rift

Until the game is actually in players' hands (literally) I think it is rather premature to take any praise for a Kinect game seriously. Yes, in spite of the fact that this game is on the "new" Kinect. I can't count the number of times an upcoming Kinect game was hailed as "finally, the reason you bought a Kinect". Rise of Nightmares, Fable Journey, Steel Battalion, Star Wars, etc. etc. etc.

I can apply your comment to Killzone, Titanfall, Knack, Forza 5, Mario Kart 8, and any other game I have not gotten my hands on and tried for myself.

But that still doesn't take away my excitement and anticipation for a game that looks and sounds interesting to me.

It may be hard for you to take a Kinect game seriously but I had fun with Rise of Nightmares and Diabolical Pitch.

This game will have epusodes similar to Alan Wake that will keep gamers intrest.

kinect gaming....lol ok run that gimmik. but a large majority of gamers would rather play it in the traditional way rather than yell or swing arms at tvs.
imo at least.

SquillieDeeWilliams3876d ago

Thats why there is an option to use a controller

Kingthrash3603876d ago (Edited 3876d ago )
