DailyGame Baja Preview: "Best-Looking Racing Game of 2008"?

DailyGame has an extensive hands-on preview, which they sum up by saying THQ's rally racing game could look better than all other racers this year, if THQ can keep up its development progress so far.

I'm going to say MotorStorm 2 will out do this. I know we haven't seen any in-game, but I'm still confident in saying it will look better.

Probably still going to pick this up though. Love a bit of Off Road.

based on the screen shots, i'd hardly call this '08's best LOOKING (as in graphics) game. Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and GRID look much better. i'd even go so far as to say that Baja doesn't look any better than Dirt or Motorstorm. still, i'll keep my eye on it as it develops. i know in my collection it'll have some stiff competition with Motorstorm 2.

hmm i reckon the screens look a bit sparse! granted these are early shots or whatever but dont think it looks anywhere as good as gt5p just yet. the course doesnt look anywhere near as busy as motorstorm either. but then again its early doors!

I honestly thought I was looking at Dirt screenshots. Anyways I always thought Dirt has one of the best looking visuals on a racing game but even that game can't compete with the likes of GT5.

Check out the last few paragraphs of the preview. The author was talking about the visuals in the in-car mode that he played, not these outside screens. I imagine THQ sent them different screens for the preview than what he got his hands on. Happens all the time (but normally the screens are pre-rendered and look better, not worse).

I don't see it. I don't think these shots look any better than DiRT or Motor Storm. Actually I don't think they are even on par with them. I thought MS was one of the best looking rally racers I have seen so far on a console. This game won't out do Motor Storm 2, GT5 or even GRID in graphics.

I dont know what there smoking.. this game needs a lot of work and i can already tell you this game is going to suck bad.. Its made by THQ. they dont know what a good game is..

WTF? The previously shown screens were horrible and gameplay trailer from THQ Gamer's Day looked seriously disappointing.

I don't think this game can take MotorStorm 2, GT5 or GRID graphically.
