Pretty sure itll reach it in 2 days.

3-4-53913d ago

That is awesome though.

It's like the opposite of greedy.

EXVirtual3914d ago

Give it a few days and boom!
Beck will be busting viruses on consoles as well as PC.

-Gespenst-3914d ago

The momentum has started to crawl a bit. 1.3 million in like 2 days, but it's barely made an extra 200,000 today. I suppose there's enough time for more spikes in the funding, but it's slow at the moment. More console people need to get on this!! Respect the history of videogames!! I think the problem is that too many console gamers are ignorant to the importance and the greatness of Megaman. They're too busy playing crappy AAA games.

I followed Smosh's crowd-funding for their Food Battle Game. They wanted $250,000. When they were 5 days left they still were like $100,000 and by the end of it they reached it. What I mean is that people will keep funding until the end.

I didn't like the reason they gave for a PS4/Xbox One version. The systems are much easier to develop for according to every developer, and it should be cheaper. By 2015 only sport games will be releasing on PS3 and 360. It really would be a bad move if they don't commit to next get consoles.

Experience. Sometimes it's best to work with a difficult beast you've already tamed than take extra time to tame a slightly less difficult one.

cyguration3914d ago

@Dravidian

That was an excellent analogy. It also seems very fitting when describing Sony's and MS's consoles.

Jeenoman3914d ago

This campaign will easily clear 4 million by the end of the 27 days. Kickstarter campaigns get the most activity in the last few days.

I still don't get how they need 2.2mil for a console release.... If Inafune needs this much money for development then high spending might be whats wrong with the Japanese.

despair3914d ago (Edited 3914d ago )

wow, that is a really ignorant statement. They need 2.2 million total for developing the game and including all the extra tiers and the console versions.

If you look at it, its more like 450k from the previous tier to the consoles version one. That's how much they are really saying they need (minus kickstarter cut, merchandise and games costs that they have to give the backers).

NovusTerminus3914d ago (Edited 3914d ago )

I find it insane that a side scrolling game needs $900,000 to be made at all, then after $300,000 more he can add two levels into the game.

Yet, Project Phoenix needed $200,000 to double enemy and character models and get extended music from Uemetsu.

From 1.75mil to 2.2mil he will put it on consoles, so he needs $500,000 to put in on systems. Licensing fee's are not that much for current consoles, and indie dev's can get by with even less.

Soul Saga got on PC, Linux, Mac, PS4, PSVita, and Wii U, and made the game for $200,000.

But, Inafune wants $150,000 for a Mac and Linux version.

Yet, for $225,000 Phoenix will go open world with an extra fight. For $250,000 we get a "Making Of" for Might No.9.

Not saying I don't want the game, just saying he is pricing his stretch goals WAY to high for what they are.

Lol, I literally said that out loud when clicking on this article.

Only tried the demos for both and mighty 9 looked atrocious. Megaman 11 was fun and polished. Never played both full versions but will see it they are on PS Extra when i get home.

Mostly get my megaman fix playing the azure gunvolt games and spin offs. And Maverick Hunter X on my Vita.

Just tried Mighty No 9 again on PSExtra...graphics are atrocious and taking down enemies by dashing into them feels so hollow.

Kickstarter's Gaming Successes Prove Big Gaming Doesn't Know What Fans Want

Kickstarter has allowed game developers all over the world to bring their respective visions to life, while AAA Studios remains out of touch.

TheEnigma3131540d ago

This is very true. Companies like EA, UBI, MS seem to be disconnected from what fans want.

Um I’m not too sure about that check how well those games sold besides the money they got from Kickstarter they didn’t sell nearly as much as most games from publishers (AAA or not).

The unfortunate reality is these days games like Shenmue 3 and Bloodstained are incredibly niche and the only way it could survive is by use of a fan funded website like Kickstarter.

No Man's Sky had the most disappointing launch after the massive hype.

It also had the best turn around of any game.

Today it is basically a mammoth sandbox/city builder/space sim/casual podcast in the background meditative play. Love it right now.

smolinsk1546d ago (Edited 1546d ago )

But you jumped on the hype train without seeing what the game really came with.

Sean Murry absolutely caught up in the hype and talk about future stuff that wasen't there from the start.

But what i was promised before the game came out was an unlimited univers and everybody else was looking forward to just that and nothing else. So he gave us just that..that people could not see the true picture about an Early access kind of game was delusional, it was so clear it was not ready...

CD3, and ff15, maybe shemue 3, I feel are more recent disappoinments than Duke nukem and perfect dark.

Anthem was predicted to be a failure from its beginning especially since the last game Bioware put out was the abomination called Andromeda.
