War Thunder wins "best simulation" game award at Gamescom

War Thunder flies away with the coveted "best simulation" award at Gamescom 2013, for it's PlayStation 4 demo. It is available on the PS4 at launch.

It currently has over 3 million players on the PC at the moment and Gaijin Entertainment are looking to open their franchise up to the console market as well now.

Been a while since I was in a dogfight , save for bf3 ... I used to be an ace , wing commander, stealth fighter, apache sim...so why not

The fact that they have American planes in a ton of their promos is hilarious considering how they made US fighters in this game handle like a flying dump truck. The historical advantages of American fighters like speed, altitude performance, and range are rendered useless in a arcade dogfighting game.

If you're going to fly a fighter in this game then do yourself a favor and play as the Brits, Russian or German.

American fighters really weren't great in a turning fight though. Never played any WW2 "sim" where they were. Always favored the Spitfire, myself.

I watched a Spitfire run rings around a P-51 Mustang at an airshow last year. US fighters were not as nimble as you seem to think.

In the P-51's case this is due to the fuel load. It had a far superior range to the Spitfire but suffered in maneuverability due to the weight increase.

They look cooler and sound meatier though. And i'm English. There is something about that deep rumble.

It's a great game, even without the simulation part.

Just recently got into this game, it's so much fun.

There's few things that feel quite so good as taking out a bomber with air to ground rockets, or getting a kill streak while limping along with two busted wings.

Really excited for this - in particular for the ground war aspect. Ive always wanted something like World of Tanks on PS3.
Hopefully, one of my launch titles to pick up for PS4.

Nothing like shooting someone 350 times only to have them turn and shoot you once and your wing falls off. Not realistic, not that fun sorry.
