Examiner: "The last time we saw images circulating regarding Left 4 Dead 3 it was from a visit to the Valve offices, something that while not easy, could be faked. This time around, thanks to some hunting by part of NeoGAF, today we've discovered some files linked to the title and these come straight from an official Valve video."
A Left 4 Dead 3 reference was spotted in the files of the Counter-Strike 2 closed beta, suggesting that the title may finally be in development.
Not the first time it's been referenced. Valve said years ago that it wasn't in development, but of course things change. L4D3 was supposedly almost finished at one point but development stopped because Source 2 was still incomplete.
Most of the time you get people saying a third game isn't needed as there's nothing to improve upon anyways, which is complete nonsense. I have to wonder if those that say such things have junk computers or something. Why they'd want to keep playing the same repetitive thing over and over is beyond me.
Valve's Robin Walker elaborates on the rumored Left 4 Dead 3, Portal VR, and a whole lot more in this month's IGN Unfiltered.
If they are going to do more VR stuff, I prey it's not exclusive stuff
No one wants VR exclusive Portal, L4D stuff, give us the option and let everyone play, especially with how long we've all been waiting for new instalments to these games.
I'd like to see a new Counter Strike, that has a story mode and is inspired by SOCOM or SWAT. The world could use more tactical shooters and Valve could do a phenomenal job with this series, if they take it in this direction.
I just want L4D3 they popped out L4D2 pretty fast after the first game and now they are dragging their feet. I know L4D3 would be a day one for me the series is my favorite shooter and I don't like many shooters.
I don't think Portal VR is a good idea considering what you do in those game I'm pretty sure I'd be puking all over the place.
Valve says Left 4 Dead 3 is absolutely not in development at the studio, despite recent rumors.
Valve needs to actually make games. Half life alyx is a start, but there needs to be something other than VR and dota.
I’m not happy they sucked in campo santo and now have them doing their bidding.
In the meantime, Half-Life 3....
No, seriously. Half-Life sold more than 9 million copies. Half-Life 2 over 12 millions. Those games are both great and best-sellers, then why is it so hard to come up with another episode. I don't understand Valve on this. And Episode 2 ended on a cliffhanger, which makes the situation even worse, and totally uncomprehensible. I understand it might be hard to develop a third episode after 2 masterpieces, but they seem to put lots of efforts into the L4D franchise. I guess they might be able to think about HL as well..
If we see the old survivors again I'll be even more hyped, Lois, Francis and Zoe cold easily find a new survivor to travel with or they could just write off the DLC and keep going North to Canada....but they have to keep the army base in as the first level that would be amazing.
For 1 year... time to get excited now just wait another 3 years sweet!!!!!
God valve takes forever to develop games.
If they do make Left 4 Dead 3, at the end of the announcement they need to address that Half Life 3 either exists or it doesn't.
Off topic but where the hell were Valve during Gamescom?
OT Orange box 2!!
