Keiji Inafune: Dead Rising 3 "isn't the game I would have made"

Dead Rising creator not convinced by Xbox One's zombie exclusive

nick3093908d ago

I hope theres a mall in this big city.

vishmarx3908d ago

lemme guess...he'd have made something on the ps4 to begin with?

MasterCornholio3908d ago

Maybe he has an exclusive for the PS4 in the works?

TGS is probably where they will unveil it.

vishmarx3908d ago

lotta disagrees ....xbots are finally coming outta thier caves

mikeslemonade3908d ago

Looks like a high quality PS3 game. All of the X1 launch games have last-gen gameplay.

I am just happy they've done away with time limits. I don't care what type of game this guy would have made. This one looks better than the previous two and not because of the better visuals.

TheFallenAngel3908d ago

Dead Rising 1 still the best so far. Maybe this will be as good or better. Don't have high hopes though.

Khajiit863908d ago

Yeah dead rising 1 was the best. Mainly because it was something fresh. Part 2 though was just more of the same and it was annoying. The only thing I hate about dead rising is, yeah there is so many zombies at once but you do not have to kill any unless they are just in the way. I never felt any horror playing it.

DasTier3908d ago

Good point! He would have made something with a ridiculous time limit and terrible voice acting.

MrSwankSinatra3908d ago

um dead rising was inspired by zombies films of the 60's & 70 specifically the George Romero films soooo... what do you expect the voice acting to be like?

Foxgod3908d ago

I respect Keiji his vision, and his upcoming game looks great!
But Dead rising 3 is going to be the best one so far, its got everything that made Dead rising good, plus total freedom.

The restrictions where the only crappy part of Dead rising.

Grap3908d ago

people love restrictions but when Xbox do it they hate it

What Happened To The Dead Rising Series?

Over the last week, Jake has been going back to the Dead Rising 2 Off The Record remaster and has been an absolute blast. When he was 15 he first got his Xbox 360 and Dead Rising with it, it was unlike any other experience. It made him wonder though, what happened to the Dead Rising series.

Interesting timing. This retrospective was released just a few days ago: https://youtu.be/Et-cKSrWuc...

Darksonic221369d ago

Ah no, I just felt like writing it as I started playing the game again and wanted to offer up my opinions 😁

InklingGirl1369d ago

I was thinking the same thing when I saw the title.

MadLad1369d ago

Complacency and new teams who didn't understand what made the series special.

Darksonic221369d ago

Seems like there was just a ton of infighting aswell and so many more issues. Honestly sadly Dead Rising 5 before it was cancelled sounded nothing like dead rising, nothing learnt from. Dr4 at all.

ColdSin1369d ago

DR4 should have not been made anyways. DR3 closed everything nicely.

darthv721369d ago

Check out the vid i posted above.

MadLad1369d ago

They're a solid channel. I always click on their vids, unless it's a series/game I simply have no interest in.

RamRod881369d ago

They took away the depth and charm of the game that made it fun and interesting, and made it into a generic zombie killing game.

DeadManMMX1369d ago

This was the series the got me to buy an Xbox 360. The first one was so good. It still had horror elements. As it went on it became kind of a parody. Never forget getting Zombie Genecider achievement and then restarting the game to get the Mega Buster. That thing was monstrous against enemies.

Gamerking821369d ago

But you never know it might be RISING again someday .

haha yes it may....good one.

The Decade's Bizarre and Quirky Gaming News

VGChartz's Patrick Day-Childs: "2020 is upon us! The past decade has had some downs, like the influx of monetisation within full games, Blizzard's community backlash and EA winning the worst company in America award twice, but also some ups, like the leaps in understanding gaming from more mainstream companies to wholesome news like gamers helping preserve a controller signed by someone’s deceased mum.

The decade has also been the highlight of some… bizarre news, and I decided collect together some of the more obscure and quirky stories to make you giggle or question what the hell happened this decade."
