OXCGN’s Payday 2 Review: The year’s best co-op game?

OXCGN:

"It’s something that everyone fed a diet of American TV and movies understands: the heist.

Bad guys try to take something, good guys try to stop them.
Payday: The Heist took this concept and made it an entertaining cooperative video game experience, and the sequel, Payday 2, is back and better than ever.

Kicking off the fall release season right, it’s one of the most polished games I’ve ever played. And I’ve played a lot of games."

I didn't really consider this game seriously, but it is doing great. Is it online only?

It looks like it'd be a lot of fun. Too bad we can't play as the cops to try and prevent the crimes too :)

Not sure about it being a single player game, but in co-op I've heard it's an absolute blast!

Single player blows. Multiplayer is fantastic.

Absolutely the best co-op game in a very long time. The game is fun as hell when things hit a fever pitch and you have a ton of time spent and cash on the line. You can be in a game for over an hour and be 5 feet away from a massive Payday and have everything crushed if you mess up.

I'm a level 9, have only played single player as only one person on my friends list owns the game. It's still a very cool game, and full of surprises. Example, I had collected 6 bags of coke, tossed it in the getaway car. I could have escaped, but I got greedy and went back for more lol. That was a mistake, because when I went back for more, the cops arrested my getaway driver. Then I escaped on a helicopter as a backup plan. Such a cool game.

Although, as of Tuesday I have only been playing Splinter Cell Blacklist.

they should make a port for the ps4 and x1

WE should be glad that the game actually pulled a profit for the developers before it was even released which is awesome for them! Imagine the power of next gen console with this haha.

The Rise of Payday and Its Fall

GB: "Of course, Payday 2 has had its fair share of ups and downs as well, in spite of the success that it has enjoyed. For starters, the disparity between the game’s PC and console versions is a major issue that plagued the game for years on end, thanks to the frustrating optimization issues across platforms brought about by the Diesel Engine, which the game was developed on."
