Thought they were all £10... oh well, I just hope they are all equally as fair

abzdine3917d ago (Edited 3917d ago )

if all are cost the same that would be great. GameStop has 360 game to PS4 game for the same price as well.

PlayStation_43917d ago

Yes, but you gotta trade in your old game for that

BattleTorn3917d ago

So, does that mean the 3rd-party titles that were mentioned before will still only be $10 to upgrade?

stuna13917d ago

Know this is something that I'm going to get on Sony about! In essence the developers could chose to charge full price! For their sake I hope not, because there is no guarantee that I as well as others waiting to get it on next gen consoles, or getting it this gen and skipping next gen! Either way Sony and Developers stand to lose money.

Minato-Namikaze3917d ago

Not sure how its sony's fault about what 3rd party's set their upgrade fees at.

stuna13917d ago

I'm not saying it's Sony fault per-se! I guess it's how you look at it, suppose GTA5 releases this gen version, the 6 months later releases next gen version, but you're required to pay full price for the next gen version, even though you have this gen version, wouldn't that be considered buying the game, instead of simply upgrading it!?

admiralvic3917d ago

Well yes, since you aren't doing anything to actually "upgrade it". These programs require you to give up (at least the physical version) your copy in exchange for a new copy (thus upgrading). Even if you save $10 dollars (lets be reasonable and say $30, since you could no doubt make $30 dollars on GTA V if you sold it even at that point), then you're still getting what you want and saving a few bucks at that.

Honestly there is no way you can lose, since you could simply avoid upgrading and save money or upgrade for a slight savings and get months of enjoyment for a small sum. Either or, there is absolutely nothing valid to complain about.

admiralvic3917d ago

So you're mad at Sony for not only giving you the chance to upgrade your games, but allowing developers to set the price (logically resulting in more games supporting it) because they could charge more for them? Makes sense.

Here is the problem with that logic. By saying this, Sony is pretty much saying "not our fault that THEY want to screw you", which means any developer expecting to "charge close to full price!" will be accountable for this choice. Transversely, it also allows developers that go above and beyond the credit for doing so (instead of people assuming it was Sony). So if Battlefield 4 is a free upgrade if you buy digitally, then people will be singing EA's praises, not Sony's. And if Ghost cost $50 dollars to upgrade, then people will be mad at Activision, but still happy Sony pushed for us to have the right to upgrade.

ziggurcat3917d ago

personally, i'm just going to wait for the PS4 version instead of paying $60, and then an additional X amount of dollars to upgrade.

or maybe the smart thing to do would be to wait for the PS3 version to drop in price, buy it, then upgrade?

Minato-Namikaze3917d ago

It might only be a limited time though. Maybe only during like the 1st 2 weeks the game is out or something.

ziggurcat3917d ago

if that's the case, then i'll just stick to the next gen version, and forget about the current gen version.

Dan_scruggs3917d ago

Aye just call Phil, i mean he somehow made Bobby Kotick's scandal disappear and gave him a few million dollar high five on the way out.

Cacabunga1d 13h ago

I wonder if it will be censored with some in game ads.

XiNatsuDragnel1d 18h ago (Edited 1d 18h ago )

EA about to go down like Activision and then Phil saves the day saying.this is good for the industry and consolidation will help create competition. /s.

ravens521d 17h ago

What's up with all these horny creeps. You gon be horny, fine. Just not at work take care of that shit before you go in. Rub one out if you have to. Don't be a creep at all. ESPECIALLY at work. But don't be one AT ALL.

Extermin8or3_1d 12h ago

I mean part of the issue is that things transpired outside of work....

KwietStorm_BLM1d 12h ago

You think deviants care where they are? Work sometimes makes it an even better situation for them because they can abuse their power.

mudakoshaka20h ago

Nerds think they are Gods when they are making video games.

NotoriousWhiz1d 16h ago (Edited 1d 16h ago )

"it seems that according to EA, given the events transpired outside of work between two adults, and the fact that once investigation has started that the alleged perpetrators didn’t do it again, the investigation is considered closed. [...] The victim still has to work with the people that harassed her."

Yep, EA is disgusting.

Extermin8or3_1d 12h ago

I mean the fact stuff happened outside of work puts EA in quite a difficult position legally. These women don't seem to have reported the matter to the police which kinda ties EA's hands on what they can do. If they don't file reports of the crimes then yeah from EA's perspective it is stuff that happened outside of work. The only exception is the guy that apparently referenced things in the slack channel for work, spending on what he said proving it may be very hard and he may well be able to get away with plausible deniability. I don't like EA and I think these people need to be dismissed but without any legal action being taken, EA can't really do much without risk of being sued themselves for unfair dismissal etc.

Another L for Xbox, when are they going to have good news?

MrDead3d ago

I would read the article but the giant pop-ups from the top and bottom of the screen made me close it.

Without reading $23.4 million isn't a deterrent for a company that size.

Boss: Let's fire a few people to recoup on that loss.
Slave: Cortana has decided to get rid of Arkane Austin and Tango Gameworks.
