Videogamer: Teenage Zombies: Invasion of the Alien Brain Thingys Review

Videogamer writes: "With a name like Teenage Zombies: "Invasion of the Alien Brain Thingys", it would be safe to expect that the plotline for this was going to be somewhat tongue-in-cheek... and those expectations would be right on the money. In fact the story here is reminiscent of that in the THQ title Destroy All Humans!, in that a race of bizarre-looking alien beings has come to Earth intent on wiping out all life, and the whole thing is played for laughs, with the aliens themselves not exactly being the sharpest tools in the box, if you get my meaning.

Unlike THQ's title though, we don't side with the aliens on this one, instead it's the more traditional 'save the Earth from the evil aliens' plotline that you tend to encounter in the movies, the twist here being that the 'heroes' tasked with fighting off the extra-terrestrial hordes are themselves usually the bad guys when it comes to the cinema: zombies. And teenage zombies at that."

Good review. It's a fun game and it is a great platformer and nice level design it just all flows rather nicely. The piecing together the body parts for energy up was a neat feature I thought as well. Good comic book story and it's funny

VGGEN Review: Teenage Zombies: Invasion of the Alien Brain Thingys

VGGEN: "OK, someone out there must have really loved 1985's Return of the Living Dead.

I remember being singularly unimpressed by the mid-80's comedy-horror hybrid (which spawned similar genre bastardizations such as the immortal "C.H.U.D. 2: Bud the C.H.U.D"), but unlike most kids weaned on crappy 80's slasher flicks, I never felt this particular mélange was meant to gel. Comedy is comedy, horror is horror, and never the twain should meet."

2Bits: Zombies simply misunderstood members of circle of life

From the article: " Zombies get a bad rap. The majority of them just can't help their innate, ravenous urges. I'm sure if they had a choice in the manner, we'd see quite a few vegetarian, or even vegan, members of the Undead. You don't get mad at lions for chasing cute zebras, or vultures from scavenging off the zebras' carcass once the lions are done.

Quite a few video games even portray some more rational zombies. So since not all zombies are evil, we shouldn't instantly condemn or fear them. Zombies are simply a part of the circle of life, and we should accept the good along with bad. Besides, if someone isn't able to outwit/outrun a zombie, then maybe that person deserves to get eaten."
