Dealspwn writes: We’ve been looking forwards to Saints Row IV ever since Deep Silver surprised us all with its announcement earlier this year. Yet much of its hard-earned limelight has been stolen by Rockstar’s upcoming GTA V. Rockstar release a few screenshots, one gameplay trailer and the world goes nuts, despite the press not even being allowed to touch it. Same old story, same old Rockstar.
Well, balls to them. Less than a month before GTA lands, one of the worst gaming droughts we’ve seen ends with numerous big hitters and none of them look half as entertaining as Saints Row IV. Here at Dealspwn we’ve had plenty of updates, trailers, interviews and hands-on sessions and it’s time to tell you why you’ll be having more fun with the dudes in purple.
The GTA 5 Agent Trevor DLC episode could have been a real treat for fans on PlayStation and Xbox, before it was scrubbed sometime before 2017.
With the amount of money they generated, I just don’t understand the scrubbing of this. It would’ve been fantastic for fans.
I really want to know who drove the decision to focus on multiplayer was it Rockstar or take two.
Because when online started taking off many of the studio leads began having falling outs and leading including a founder
One of the reason I believe once gta 6 release, most of us thoroughly play it, enjoy the world they crafted then after that no offline support, no dlc at all
Grand Theft Auto V was released on PC on the 14th of April 2015. That means the game will be nine years old in four days, and it’s still among the most-played titles on Steam. With a 24-hour peak of 145K players, it’s as popular as Baldur’s Gate 3, Apex: Legends, and Destiny 2.
The freedom to explore large areas, approach objectives in multiple ways, and stumble across amusing distractions will always be an excellent format for video games, but some do it better than others. To celebrate the formula and parse the best from the best, have a look at the best open-world games of all time so far.
Hmmm... not sure. I'll give you the "create a character", but beyond that, GTA V looks alot more my thing. Fun, with maturity, satire, humour, grounded in a real world setting, without all the over-the-topness and 'dildos' of Saints Row.
It was always the only way Saints Row could distinguish itself from GTA. To each his/her own, but I'm sticking with GTA V.
lol
u can't put sr and gta in the same sentence, heck i like sr but gta's quality, care, atmosphere, city design, radio stations, attention to detail, physics and the deliciousness of the gameplay/vehicles/carnage is second to non
sr feels like a toy compared to GTA IV, not the themes, im ok with sr craziness but the core of the game
SR 1 was the best in the series imo, SR2 was very very good but a bit less than the original, SR 3 was good but not as good as the first two, SR 4 to be honest looks......meh especially when compared to GTA V
the series is regressing
no other open world game has touched GTA IV in terms of quality since 2008 and GTA V look to beat GTA IV on every aspect, so comparing the titan that is GTA V to a regressing game like SR 4 is a crime
Since I likely won't be buying SR, and I'll be day 1 for GTA, I very much doubt that.
I am a sucker for completely customized characters.
There is absolutely no doubt(this coming from somebody that is not a fan of the gta games) that Rockstar has a pedigree that very few developers can compete with. They have never, to my knowledge, release anything sub-par. Now obviously I'm not a big fan of GTA, however that doesn't mean that it's not a quality series.
Saints Row provides something that not many other games do.
I'm also not a big fan of Saints Row. However I loved two, and I will be purchasing four for one last ps3 co-op romp with my buddy.
So I can completely understand the author's point behind the article.
I just hope that people don't take it personally that different people enjoy different things.
i never could stand the shooting in saints row the third, it was unrealistic, and felt too sloppy
