Bayonetta 2 - Preview | GamingLives

GamingLives takes a look at the upcoming sequel to Platinum Games' critically-acclaimed hack-n-slasher, Bayonetta.

"With fans clamouring for a sequel, I doubt you’d have found anyone willing to place a bet on Nintendo funding and publishing it as a Wii U exclusive, nor on it delivering enough high-octane thrills and intense action sequences to make Bruce Willis or Jason Statham look incompetent. There’s so much going on, even in the opening sequence that I played, that I’d be hard-pressed to tell you about any of the actual story or plot because the cut-scenes were so insanely over-the-top that I spent half of them trying to keep my jaw off the ground."

Wish I could BUY and play it on my systems. One of the tightest and most creative action titles out there.

i totally agree with this article, it is going to take the wii u by storm, I have not been this excited about a mature game in a long time, and it's only on wii u!! the last M rated game I really got excited about was Resident Evil 4, and after that Mad World, another exclusive nintendo title for the wii, which also happened to be made by Platinum!! they are such a great company!! This game is going to be stellar! and Definitely one of the best games of 2014!! sigh, such a long wait!!

The only reason that this is coming back is all because of Nintendo. Microsoft, Sony, and even Sega didn't want to bring a sequel. It's impossible to bring this to other platforms unless Nintendo let's it which is very unlikely. Nintendo found it's uniqueness and will bring the best out of it before it releases.

Dunpeal3939d ago (Edited 3939d ago )

Yeah, that was very shortsighted of MS, Sony and Sega. I mean how many other countless titles get sequels when the original absolutely sucks?? And how many games get made that absolutely suck?? Aliens: Colonel Marines anyone????

And they didn't even want to bring back a title that had at least a cult following??

Yes it is very unfair for the established fans. Hopefully, with the help of Nintendo, Bayonetta 2 will surpase the first Bayonetta in..............everything! That was also the goal of the Bayonetta 2 dev team at Platinum Games.

There is no evidence of Microsoft or/and Sony rejected/said no to a Bayonetta 2.
There is not a shred of evidence implying this. The only thing is Platinum Games saying "Without Nin there wouldnt be Bayo 2". That could mean in their eyes they saw no future for Bayo 2 if Sega and Nintendo said no.

There is however evidence that implies that Nintendo was the second and LAST company (after Sega) that was asked to publish Bayo 2. In other words, Sony and Microsoft was not approached by Platinum Games to publish Bayo 2.

And Sega said no to publishing Bayo 2 because of financial issues. Bayo 2 was not only project that was affected by Sega's issues:

"so we have continued to consult with SEGA, the previous game’s publisher, on how we can make sure this takes place. Our answer was a new partnership with Nintendo."

You bloody ignorant fucks keep spreading a false rumor without actual proof.

Also Sega has interest in Bayo serie, its just that their fiancial state did not allow a sequel, but they are very active in taking part in Bayo 2 project.

As a matter of fact SEGA told PG to go to Nintendo.

Everyone agreeing to the post i am replying to are fucken ignorant idiots.

What you said is true. Although you could have done it with a better tone. Sega, as you said had a big financial loss in which they were unable to fund sequels to games. Instead of bringing it back to Microsoft or Sony, they went to Nintendo seeing how bad Bayonetta did in the other two consoles, and good thing Nintendo is funding the game because that relieves Sega a lot from financial support. Such a shame because Bayonetta is actually good game. It's just that it was presented to the wrong type of people.

Wish Hideki went on kickstarter and selfpublished it. but it seem he doen't care

_QQ_3939d ago (Edited 3939d ago )

Think about how much this game must cost to make,Do you really think kickstarter wouldve done the trick? If you are a fan be happy its coming out on somthing.

antikbaka3939d ago

pretty much successful http://www.kickstarter.com/...

cost of this game for me = game price+wiiU
nah, wiiU is dead? no reason to buy it for one game. RIP bayonetta.

Why Bayonetta 3 Is a Step Down From Its Predecessor

Many fans have been expressing their disappointment with Bayonetta 3. Here's why the recently released game is a clear step down from Bayonetta 2.

MadLad528d ago (Edited 528d ago )

Yet the Switch is much more powerful than the Wii U - the platform the second game released on. So you're just being negative to be negative with that comment.

anast528d ago

The voice acting wasn't as good...

jBlakeeper528d ago

Bayonetta herself doesn’t even look as good design wise.

-Foxtrot527d ago

I thought they focused on big kaiju like fights which felt gimmicky and thy brought this new character in to try and get away from the leading star

*Spoilers*

I mean they pretty much killed 3 big characters. They killed Jeanne, Luka and Bayonetta herself and it's not the fact they died it's how they died, we've seen Jeanne and Bayonetta survive countless things yet they go out by the lamest ways possible.
