Actually Within 4-12 months there will be:

COD, BF4, TitanFall, Destiny, Killzone, Halo, and a few others I'[m forgetting to mention.

It's not longer COD & Halo dominate and get all sales.

That Pie is going to be split up more amongst many people so COD just won't make as much money any more as the have in the past.

It's just logic.

I could easily pick up a copy of COD MW to play again and feel like I have not took a major step back in graphics or game-play from MW3!

BS. Dice has been throwing dirt at CoD for years. Remember the heartbeat sensor joke from Bad Company? Dice and EA are the small dogs yapping at the big one.

Also, you can't have a single CoD article without Battlefield fanboys talking up BF4 and how much better it is.

The only thing CoD fanboys do is ignore the fact that the game is s*** and that they're being ripped annually, but you never see them all over BF4 articles.

I recently just switched to BF3 ( first ever), about a month or so ago, and I'm enjoying it more than almost any COD I've played.

COD 2,3, WaW, & MW1 <----- That is when COD was at it's peak in terms of quality and balance.

Every game besides COD is evolving this upcoming gen and they have already stated they are keeping formula the same, so get ready for the next 3 games to be the same.

Them selling 15 million copies is long gone.

I don't like Battlefield at all, just doesn't appeal to me. I find the game play drags on and most of my time is wasted find a squad that communicates.

I thoroughly enjoy the quick action provided by multiplayer in Call of Duty games.

So I obviously prefer COD but I hope Battlefield 4 is amazing purely so the fans and players enjoy it.

I agree somewhat. If your playing without friends it can be a drag getting shot to shit by a T-90 for the millionth time, while nobody switches to engineer to take that sucker out. I tried it by myself a few times but BF is definetley a game that requires communication..but I like that about it too. It forces you to work as a team.

I like that Cod lets me go full rambo and win, even when my team mates suck.

I have fun dropping from a helicopter and throwing C4 on tanks as I pass and hear the huge deafening explosion of it when I hit the detonator. And I also have fun throwing nades into a choke point and igniting the scrambling enemies on fire as they run into my fire of death flamethrower in BF BC2.

I also like taking dog tags and the sound of a well placed mortar shell. :)

battlefield looks to take over the multi plat 1st person shooter craze next gen...if they keep up wat they doing they surely will...meanwhile some peeps have got dogs and fish ai as proof of next gen lol

You don't need to praise them Activision for some pity love, they've already blown you out of the water. Gamers want the more involved, and deep experience, Call of Duty simply hasn't offered that in the last 4 titles, and finally consumers are starting to ignore it.

I'm sure people do have fun with the game, but the faster it dies the better. Way too many good franchises died this generation from the "need" for multiplayer Call of Duty established.

I want you to fail Call of Duty, congratulations on the flawless victory Battlefield 4.

I find it amazing how people blame Call of Duty for ruining other games this generation, instead of the developers that actually made those games.

IMO developers are starting to implement MP because they've seen how much replay value it adds to the game. Not many people are going to go out and pay full retail price for a game that lasts 10 hours. If CoD dies out then we'll be left with just BF/EA which would be just as bad, if not worse.

Both franchises have huge fan bases and aren't going to disappear any time soon so just play whichever one interests you and stop hating!

Call of Duty did ruin other games. If it's multiplayer wasn't as popular as it was a lot of games wouldn't have added it and taken away from the single player.

I get what you're saying and I've heard lots of other people say the same thing, but how do we know the campaigns are being compromised for the MP? If you can give a few examples then fair enough I'd agree but I don't think many developers are sacrificing SP for the MP mode. I think what we're seeing is developers creating games with multiplayer in mind as the main selling point, so they're then tacking on a single player campaign just to cater for offline players. Battlefield has done exactly that; EA/DICE know that most people will buy the game for MP and not even touch the campaign.

This gen we've seen some amazing games (single player) so I don't think it's something we need to worry about. There are games that are primarily MP (CoD,BF) but we still have tonnes of other stuff for people who prefer single player.

Also, my main point in my first post was that the blame should be on the developers who choose to cater towards a certain crowd, not the game that has been able to gain the fan base in the first place.

Like several comments above, it's two different play styles and a preference issue. I'm all about the Battlefield series; BF4 will be incredible! But I want Ghosts to be successful also. Both franchises need each other to keep things thriving as to "who will have the greatest edge" in the world of shooters. Without competition, developers on both ends will get lazy.
