IGN review: PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate HD

Seeing as how PixelJunk Monsters: Ultimate HD is a high-def version of the amazing 2009 PSP game PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe, all developer Double Eleven had to do was not screw up the port of this excellent tower defense. Luckily, it didn’t, and PixelJunk Monsters: Ultimate HD is as fun, addictive, and challenging as ever.

So have any of you bought this for your Vita? Are you enjoying it?

As for me, I'm not big on tower defense games so I won't be buying it.

I was willing to try the genre but the price put me away.

Got the ps3 version for a dollar when it's on sale so the price is really a turn off.

Just bought the PSP Version 2 weeks ago on Amazon for $5, so I'm probably gonna wait for a price drop to grab this version.

The game was incredibly addictive on PS3, mainly as you aimed to 'rainbow' (perfect) the levels, and if you managed to make it to the 19th wave out of 20 and just 1 monster gets through you just feel the urge to restart. Before you know it you've spent a few hours on the same level and really enjoyed it.

As i'm from the UK it's not out til later today, but i will definitely be purchasing it for my vita

I have it and it's ace. FYI I'm not really into tower defense either but this game is addicting.

Would you say its addicting like PvZ?

LemyAtom3940d ago

Yes. You can happily spend hours on it without getting bored, trying to perfect each level. It becomes a deep strategy experience as you have to learn the best towers to use, where to place and when to research or upgrade to perfect each level.

Alright, love me PvZ type games, I might just have to buy it. Thank god for PS+ discount!

Wonder if they're going to bring PJM to Steam like they did with Eden. I always liked this one more.

Prison Architect exclusive interview – 60FPS, full trophy list and user-created maps on PS4

PlayStation Universe interviews Double Eleven about bringing their prison management simulation game to PS4.

Deathdeliverer3004d ago

I never got around to buying this game on steam although I wanted it. Glad to see a newer release is coming out. First the Escapist and now Prison architect. Maybe there's something wrong with me...

"If you were stuck on an island with one PlayStation game for the rest of eternity, what would it be?"

"Absolutely without a shadow of a doubt, Street Fighter 5! As of writing this I’m eagerly awaiting picking up my preordered copy."

That would be a really bad choice with the lack of SP content. He couldn't even play VS with a COM.

On Topic: I was just looking at this game the other day. Didn't know it was coming to PS4. Will have to check it out.

Review: PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate HD - 2 Years of Frustration Are Finally Over

Chris of The Games Cabin: I’m free. It’s over. That’s what I said when I put down my PS Vita after finishing the last challenge on PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate HD. For the past two years (maybe a few months longer) I’ve been dipping in and out of the game. I’ve deleted it out of frustration, only to then find myself downloading it again a week later because I need to finish it. That time has come, finally.

I saw this game in Shahid's string of games coming to the Vita, but I had never heard of it before.
