XMNR: Today is Sunday, July 28 and looking back on the past week seems to perfectly highlight the best and worst of the games industry. The week brought another win for gamers with another reversal of an Xbox One policy and a loss with the cancellation of Fez 2 and the exit of an indie developer from the industry that shows the ugly side of gaming when basic civility is discarded in favor of edginess.
Following the Wii U and 3DS servers being taken offline, Call of Duty Black Ops 2 and Ghosts are officially dead.
Call of Duty players are jumping into Black Ops 2 for the final time before its Wii U servers go offline for good.
GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 leap up due to summer sales
Wow, good games never get old I guess.
CoD will always be a beast of a franchise, and how awesome is it that you can just boot it up or pop it into your Xbox and play, MS BC is really a neat feature.
If Fish wants to be a cry baby, take his 'ball' and go home, then that's fine. I'm not condoning Beer's part in this stupid charade, but nobody likes a weak, whinney-pants attitude either.
Have a backbone Phil. You're really going to pack it up because some d-bag journalist got under your skin? Good luck in the real world buddy.
Not sure why Phil Fish quit. If it's because of internet comments, I'm shocked.
I am shocked, this guy is human. He looks to be the type that should be in a room somewhere making games, some people just aren't good at dealing with the media etc.
"The week brought another win for gamers with another reversal of an Xbox One policy". This isn't a comforting thing haven't you ever heard "you may have won the battle but we will win the war". Have the Xbox 180 people ever shown a legal document that guarantees they won't just reverse their reversals a year or two later when it's "too late"?
