My day1 list:

BF4
Watch Dogs
Killzone : Shadow Fall
Knack

RiPPn3965d ago

I like your list except replace Knack with AssCreed 4.

MWong3965d ago (Edited 3965d ago )

Day 1 for me:

BATTLEFIELD 4 ... couldn't just BF4 it anymore :)
Watch Dogs
KillZone: SF
AC4:BF
Knack
COD:Ghosts
DCUO

I honestly didn't think some of these games would ship day 1, but I am happy I will be able to keep using my TB headset. Will be playing BATTLEFIELD 4 mainly though.

RememberThe3573965d ago

Why is everyone so into Knack? What are you seeing that I'm not? I get all the other games on the list, but Knack seem like it's 2 generations late. It kinda reminds me of Megaman Legends (in it's cartoon style), actually.

I ask only because I feel like I missed something. Maybe its just not the kind of game I'm into but I'd hate to miss out on a cool ass game because I missed something about it.

minimur123965d ago

I might have to get:
W_D
Knack
AC IV

Let's see what else.

Well, of course all of thoe F2P games ;D

jimmywolf3965d ago

@ RememberThe357

few reason people are supporting knack, new ip,liked the developer, interesting looking game play, if the game does well their be a sequel that would look an play better,an just wanting too try something new.

Have people just forgotten how fun 3D platformers can be? Knack looks strikingly similar to Crash games. I'm in high school and only saved enough money to get two launch titles and they're gonna be knack and Killzone or Battlefield depending on Killzones multiplayer reveal. I know I'm kind of young and started gaming after you but I'm sure you've played Spyro, or Jak. When the HD generation began, did we suddenly become too good for cartoon style graphics?

-Sorry my comment is so sloppily put together, I usually don't comment more than a couple of lines

Darrius Cole3965d ago (Edited 3965d ago )

@RememberThe357

Knack strikes me as a game intended for younger audiences, not as a game that is technologically behind. The kids need games too, and the companies need to get kids into their customer base.

Besides some adults like those kinds of light-hearted games too. Not everything has to be a military shooter.

Conzul3965d ago

Yeah, I'm getting Knack too. On faith though...I never really was into that kinda thing. But Teh Cerny :D

BISHOP-BRASIL3964d ago

@RememberThe357

I don't think anyone here can really tell if you'll be missing out or not as the game had not been released, but Knack looks to me like Crash Bandiccot (platformer) meets Katamari Damacy (puzzle), I like both genres, so I'm looking forward to it (although I had not decided if it will be a day one buy or not yet).

RememberThe3573964d ago

I love platformers. Spyro was my first Playstation game back in the day. I love a great 3D platoformer and the way they make you feel when you play them, but nothing about Knack seem to evoke that from me.

I don't see the wonder of Spyro, I don't see the beauty of Jak, or the craziness of Ratchet. All I see is a weird little-huge monster running around Megaman Legends HD.

Well, now that I put it that way, it could grow on me.

Red_Devilz3964d ago (Edited 3964d ago )

@RiPPn: Looking at disagree votes for your comment, picture doesn't look too bright for AC4. My feeling, it is all because of huge let down by AC3.

I, personally, am going to wait for price drop for AC4. Felt like I was duped when bought that AC3 copy at $60.

My Day one: BF4, W_D

My first 6months: ESOnline, Withcer 3, GTAV (if it shows up on PS4)

flankhim3964d ago

Great! More background noise!

morganfell3964d ago

DAY 1:

2 PS4s with Cameras
Knack
Killzone SF
Watchdogs
BF4

Anything else that surfaces between now and launch that catches my interest.

PlayStation 4 to Support PlayStation 3 Wireless Headsets

and thats a good thing.. I got Sony wireless 7.1 headset made for PS3.. :) it works for PC's wery well also.. so I never doubted this..

UltimateMaster3964d ago

Is it true that the Xbox One's headset won't be compatible with 360s?
Will people be forced to buy a new gaming headset?

madpuppy3964d ago

I think knack looks pretty cool myself, plus I want to be able to have MANY different experiences on my console of choice...not just FPS and games with soldiers in them, I want to see trolls, aliens, knights, cartoon characters, animals, fish, monsters, troglodytes, interdimensional beings, dream creatures and any other thing that the creative minds of the developer can create.

AzureskyZ3964d ago

Ive primarily gamed on 360 and transitioning into ps4-- although i have a ps3 i dont own a headset for ps3/ps4-- any recommendations-- im looking at 150-250 range best overall quality.

Pixel_Enemy3964d ago

I have the older model PS3 wireless headset (the bulky ugly turtle beach rip off) After hearing this news, I am going to buy the new Pulse headset tomorrow.

This is fantastic news so my new purchase will be usable on the PS3, PS4 and I read that it comes with a aux cable that can be used on my phone, vita or any other audio device.

I am really excited to pick this up! Thinking about going to walmart because it is open 24/7 to get it right now.

MazzingerZ3964d ago (Edited 3964d ago )

@Remember
Knack is just one of those games that it will just be fun to play, I recall Kameo on the X360 giving me the first next-gen experience, the flying dragons at the far end looked awesome then...these kind of games reminds us why we still game today, at least in my case, almost 35 years later still gaming, maybe lot less hence the importance of a platform that can deliver the best of everything...PS4 is that platform for me

Ps. Nothing wrong with a megaman legends HD right? Loved the monkey LOL

Gamer19823965d ago

no hard to add support as all they need is a bluetooth adapter and they are what these days? 50p/$1 a chip? A no brainer really..

boing13965d ago

Yeah, but Sony's headset uses two channels for HQ mode which isn't normal.

RememberThe3573965d ago

It still can't be too pricey and it helps with carry over to the new system. If Sony wants us to buy new headsets they have to make better ones. It's like a win-win-win.

GunsAndTheBeast3965d ago (Edited 3965d ago )

PS4 Baby! so much win!

Meanwhile.. @M$:
um.. you have to buy an adapter.. or buy our new headset! you don't have money? what?! sorry i don't speak poor. so you're pretty much screwed. don't talk to me unless you have money.

(no i'm not trying to be funny, this is actually the official response.)

Sitdown3965d ago

What about Nintendo or is your obsession just with Microsoft?

GunsAndTheBeast3965d ago

Yes, and i like nintendo, they're good folks over there. NEXT!

GunsAndTheBeast3964d ago

@gamertk421 aww.. so sweet.

BattleTorn3964d ago

Huh, I could've swore this article was about Playstation.

Leave it to a Sony fan to bring up Microsoft.

Any news about wired headsets has it been confirmed yet whether they will work?

Red_Devilz3964d ago

About wired headsets, I guess my phone earplugs will work fine since they have 3.5mm jack on DS4. Don't need those long wires no more

Utalkin2me3964d ago (Edited 3964d ago )

All current gen wired headsets will work with the PS4.

Anon19743964d ago

Good news about the headsets. My kids rooms are in the basement so to get any gaming done at night I rely on my headset. I received the PS3 wireless headset/headphones for Christmas from my wife a couple of years ago and I've been quite happy with them.

Also reassuring to hear that if a game meets Sony's quality standards they'll be involved in actively promoting the title. That's huge for indies who have limited marketing resources.

showtimefolks3964d ago

day one

watch dogs
KZ
drive club
knack i may get

also don't be surprised if TLOU gets a port at launch since porting a game over to ps4 is quick and easy, i am more than willing to spend again on last of us f it gets a ps4 release

Insomnia_843965d ago

AWESOME!!! I got both the Pulse and the PULSE ELITE. I use both every night.

RememberThe3573965d ago

You use both? You have 4 ears and two mouths? Thats either awesome or horrible.

Insomnia_843965d ago (Edited 3965d ago )

Ok, I didn't think I would have to explain this but some people seem to be very slow judging from my disagrees, so here I go...

I have long gaming sessions at night (5+hrs)and sometimes watch movies and music videos and one headset is not enough so when the battery of the first one I use depletes, I switch to the other one.

Get it?

Btw I didn't disagree with any of you two as I took it as a joke but like I said just for the disagrees.

kneon3964d ago

I just use a long cable so I can use it while it charges.

BeastModeYMOB3964d ago

I have the same set in my house, those headsets are so worth the money and I can't wait to game next gen with them.

k2d3964d ago

Just bought the PS3 wireless headset an hour ago!! Nice job Sony!

T23964d ago

Yes for the money they are very good ... Great for movies too when you dont want the old yamaha rx575 to wake the entire house

Red_Devilz3964d ago

Can you please elaborate your experience on Pulse Elite compared to Pulse? Whats the difference? I am contemplating about buying P: Elite

T23964d ago

I think the elite just have different layout and a bass " rumble" ? I didnt feel it was worth the extra money but could be wrong ...?

Am I right in thinking it will also support all 3rd party Steering wheels ? Logitech etc...

Hope so.

UnwanteDreamz3964d ago

I think that would be up to devs.

Sony CEO says although AI "has been used for creation," it's "not a substitute for human creativity"

"AI is not a substitute for human creativity. We position it as a technology that supports creativity. Creativity resides in people. We will continue to contribute to people's creativity through technology," the CEO said.

...not yet but 100% within the next 10 years!

..Then Sony will use it like the drop of a hat. They're no different to the others.

isarai4d ago (Edited 4d ago )

They used to be 😞 sure it was always a business, and money's always the priority, but they used to have a very strong stance on supporting artists and creativity. "Dont f#@k with the artist" was a phrase they touted a few times back in the ps1-ps3 era, a philosophy carried over from their music branch PlayStation was created from. It's not COMPLETELY gone, but it's barely there compared to what it was back then, i just want them to return to that.

Eonjay3d ago (Edited 3d ago )

I am highly encouraged by their statement about human creativity. "Dont f#@k with the artist" is exactly what they are saying. But at the same time, I don't think people understand that Sony is a corporation. If they don't realize growth, they don't get to exist. When you say 'Sony', you are talking about a bunch of investors. To speak about them any other way is a illogical and incorrect. They haven't changed. They have been a group of investors since they became a public business.

isarai4d ago

Ugh, i really wish people would stop gambling people's livelihoods by turning a project/game into their political soapbox. Im all for statements and having your own opinion, but there's more people working on this than just druckman, ham fisting your political beliefs onto just seems inconsiderate for everyone elses job security when it can result in a failure due to people avoiding it for that reason.

I play games for escape, im so tired of nearly every AAA game blatantly dragging real world issues to shove in my face when I'm trying to take a break from it all. They don't even bother to be subtle about it, quite the opposite, it's blasted and force fed to you and it's just getting exhausting

Einhander19723d ago

People are taking a whole interview and cutting it down to clips that make him look bad and take what he actually was saying out of context. For example he also said things like this AI has "ethical issues we need to address"

-Foxtrot3d ago

@Einhander

Why defend him at this point?

It’s not taking things out of context, he said what he said.

Old ND would never talk about soulless AI taking over so many creative things they are well known for. The whole “ethical issues” is just a good PR spin people who push this crap fall back on to make their statements not seem as bad. So many AI lovers do this.

AI has no place is so many creative based things.

Einhander19723d ago

Well yeah, because everyone else is using it so they need to stay competitive. It's the same as paid online, they didn't want to go that route but their competition was making so much money they needed to add paid online just to keep up.

RaiderNation3d ago (Edited 3d ago )

AI will never replace humans in game development in terms of conceptualizing new games. Humans still need to come up with the ideas and what they want to implement. However much of the day to day menial coding could be AI driven to reduce production time and team size. I could also see AI being used for bug testing/optimization that could lead to better quality games at launch. I'm actually very optimistic about how AI can positively impact game development.

XiNatsuDragnel4d ago

Good statement but hopefully this holds up

NotoriousWhiz3d ago

People that aren't software developers just don't understand the benefits of AI. People who's only exposure to A.I is the Terminator movie and other related sci fi films won't understand the benefits it provides.

It's not about replacing human labor. It's about making human labor easier.

Many years ago, I had laser eye surgery done. It was performed by a robot. The doctor took my measurements and calibrated the machine to make sure it would do what needed be done. And then the robot corrected my vision in 10 seconds.

15 years later and I still have 20/20 vision.

Eonjay3d ago

AI in and of itself is not a 'bad'. Money is bad. Money is evil, and corporations will do whatever they can to get more of it. They will find ways to implement AI to replace as may jobs as possible. This isn't even up for debate. It is the charge of the corporation to maximize returns for the investors. They have no choice. I'm a developer and I know that my job will absolutely be replaced. Therefore, I have decided to become an AI dev. AI has a lot of potential to help us solve problem on a scale most can't even imagine. The issue, as ever is that our monetary system only ever allows us to focus on greed and fiscal growth.

But I am a pragmatist. Perhaps an AI model can be built to help protect us from our most dangerous instincts and habits. And perhaps Congress can pass laws to protect us from people who would use AI to manipulate and control us (spoiler: they wont).

RaiderNation3d ago (Edited 3d ago )

Progress is inevitable. Nobody driving cars today is complaining that the horse and buggy is no longer around. Yes, some jobs will be lost but guess what? With innovation comes new job opportunities. It's how the cycle of the job market works.

Sony Patents To Prevent You From In-Game Harassment By Reading Your Emotions

A new patent recently published by Sony wants to gather biometric data of gamers to track whether one is being harassed using AI tools.

Profchaos33d ago (Edited 33d ago )

I hope this is one of those patents that never comes to fruition.

I already dislike the fact you can pay a significant amount for a online service buy associated games and content on said service and get banned from that service over potentially a misunderstanding the bans are already handed out for flimsy reasons

I'd rather see money invested in a ban that simply removes the offensive players ability to communicate with unknown players allow them to continue party chats with friends but not with Joe blow on cod.

exputers32d ago

Agreed. Blizzard recently banned a college Overwatch 2 player who's dependent for saying "shit." Pretty harsh.

Profchaos32d ago (Edited 32d ago )

How rediculas really. You can't say a word that's allowed in most PG films and prime time TV but the game is based around killing the enemy team using guns, explosives etc.

It's just backwards.

just_looken32d ago

What your talking about is called block list

In 2006 a spaceship dropped of the playstation 3/xbox 360 i say that that generation was the last great gen with game functions/tech that has yet to comeback

Anyhow the playstation 3 if you block listed a id they could not talk to you in chatroom with either text or voice. But that was pre mind fucked 2018 when people were more human than sheep.

But hey gta 6 is coming out billion dollar budget without a single player custom character creator and without singeplayer coop off/online something saints row 1-3 had on the xbox 360.

phoenixwing32d ago

Cmon where's the pictures of your children. Don't hold out on them.

H932d ago

At this rate I feel Sony will eventually sell a room to play games in it where they can monitor your every breath

jambola32d ago

I genuinely get a bit worried sometimes when a friend says something that could be offensive In a party
Because I have no trouble believing some bans would happen when in a private party for saying something wrong

SegaSaturn66932d ago

I want them to censor erotic content by measuring my groin temperature so i dont get too distracted while playing black ops 2.

Popsicle32d ago

Terrible idea. Not only do I not consent to providing my biometric data, the potential for mishandling biometric data is almost a certainty. Positive stress and negative stress can produce similar changes in biometrics. Interpreting the precise emotion a person is feeling is not only invasive but could be easily misconstrued. I hope this never comes to fruition.

Sony Could Increase Your Game's Difficulty If It Sees You Complain About It

Sony has recently published a new patent that wants to dynamically handle the games' difficulty and gameplay based on the player's emotions.
