Lightning Will Strike Sexy and Alluring Pose When Wearing FFXIV Costume in Lightning Returns: FFXIII

Those that have been on the warpath about the sexy transformation of Lightning for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII will probably implode when seeing this.

A scan of the newest issue of Weekly Famitsu emerged showing the victory pose that Lightning will strike when wearing the previously announced Miqo'te costume from Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.

What is wrong with Square Enix? Lightning was the only character in FF 13 that I even remotely liked.

This is really out of character for Lightning.

This isn't the only thing that they crammed fan service into. It's looks like it's kind of hard to avoid it in this game.

They've even increased her breast size!

Again, all you have to do is wearing the costumes you like and avoiding those you don't. Yay for choices.

To be fair, after watching the game play footage there are a couple of costumes where she strikes a pose in a way which would normally be alien to lightning.

They increased her breast size? How so? They went from a B to a BB? If there was any increase to those bee stings, it was minute. I think it's the clothing accentuating them more.

Either way, I could never imagine Lightning going out in a getup like that.

Not even remotely. Yes, her wardrobe upgrade is... questionable, but the tone in the game still seems to be dark and serious...ish: the world is ending and she's on the clock to save it. She also seems to remain grumpy all the time, just as she ever was. Very much differently, X-2 was a silly girl power themed game and yuna (now a rock star, no less) aquired a brand new personality of her own along with her new taste in clothes.

I don't really believe the whole "sex sells" thing when it comes to situations like this. Nobody buys FF games for their sex appeal. Maybe if Square focused more on better stories and gameplay, and less on sexy outfits and breast-increases for Lightning, more people would be interested in the FFXIII series.

Don't see what the big deal is about. Like some have said, don't like it, then don't have her wearing said costume while playing the game.

Those who have bashed about this are probably the ones who disliked XIII and XIII-2 anyways, so no surprise there.

If that is not the case, I feel like some are getting way too attached to a video game character and should loosen up.

I see a lot of people complaining about this as if everyone loves 13 and 13-2... I thought they were alright, but a bit sterile and boring, Lightning returns actually has me suuuuuper excited. They are throwing so many options at us. The ability to explore the world freely and more control over lightning and all these customizing options with costumes and stuff. I'm loving it. You haters, just keep hating!

I don't think Cloud spent the entire game being badass. In fact, he dropped the tough-guy act as soon as they left Midgar. He was a dork throughout most of the game and AVALANCHE constantly reminded him of the fact. What part of "Let's mosey!" is badass? lol

I don't care if lightning is sexy or not in this game. After what they did with the story in 13-2 (which I enjoyed), they could pretty much do whatever with 13-3...

I mean, at this point, you have to take this series with a grain of salt, it's way past the point of being taken as a serious series anymore. (Speaking of the 13 series, not the whole FF series here).

But that does not mean the game won't be good. I'm super hyped for 13-3. And actually, the more out of character stuff and convoluted storyline they can cram in the title, the more funny I think it'll be. Funny like laugh out loud "bad-taste". With a great battle system.

But who knows, maybe it'll all click anf end the story on a satisfying note.
