Dark begins with Eric Bane, who is the character you play in the game, staggering and hallucinating like someone on acid through a nightclub called The Sanctuary. Seeing visions of an angel, Eric is blinded with pain and nausea and struggles to find a bathroom. Soon after you find out that you have been turned into a Vampire, well that depends on certain factors. To become a fully fledged Vampire you must drink the blood of the one that turned you, and if they are not around any old ancient Vampire will do.

Greedfall is easily one of the best "diablo clones" on the market, and it's dirt cheap for the base games. Their lengthy expansions are still kind of pricey though.
Vampyr is a great mention, but it's already offered on certain subscription services, and can be found cheaper either way.
One more personal recommendation of mine is Elex. A lot of player agency in the story and quests, and the world is very interesting to explore. Just don't expect the best combat, and there's definite jank to be had.

You know the poorly implemented stealth segments of an action game? That but an entire game.
I really wanted this to be a good stealth game with something new to offer being a vampire but it seems like it's just not a great game :(
