"I jumped into the TrackMania series with TrackMania Sunrise, the second entry in the franchise. Sunrise was a great-looking game for its time, coming with the three environments of Island, Bay and Coast for me to experience. Environments are a key part of TrackMania: each one has its own appearance and vehicle with unique handling. I remember hating the Coast environment’s car, because it was a heavy piece of crap with no traction. I spent ages roaring in anger over trying to beat and master those levels. Sunrise was my entry into the awesomeness and madness that is the TrackMania gameplay, and because I always want more, I loved Nadeo for releasing an 'ultimate' collection with TrackMania United Forever, featuring every environment from Sunrise, the original game and TrackMania Nations. This was great for the first game, as fans could see the tracks of Rally, Snow and Desert updated with the new Sunrise engine." (DarkZero)
One Angry Gamer "Now here’s a bit of news you probably didn’t see coming: Nadeo has announced that you can gain free access to their ManiaPlanet games right now, no strings attached. You download the free demo and for 48 hours straight you can play the ManiaPlanet titles for free."
Ubisoft and Nadeo have announced a very special offer for Trackmania 2 Canyon, Valley and Stadium. According to the French publisher, PC gamers can go ahead and download the first two games and gain access to all their community-created content for the first 48 hours.
Ubisoft Nadeo released today the Trackmania 2 Universal Demo.
so they sell the games as 3 separate parts stadium canyon and valley and segment the community of paying customers so badly the games are dead....then they release a free demo that combines all the games into one....unless they have also combined the retail games into one for the people that paid for them then this is a mega insult to those that paid for 1 or all the the 3 parts of a game that should have been whole to begin with. yes i get that its a timed demo but the fact remains they have created a version of the game with all the pieces in one.... for free
You are right that it's difficult to release on a continuous basis new content without having some division effect. However, this demo is also there to solve the issue, since you can join the others for at least an hour per day, and then united the community like the spirit between Nations & United, but not focused on only one environment.
