Sony BMG is no stranger to piracy. As one of the most vocal supporters of the RIAA and IFPI antipiracy efforts, the company has some experience hunting down and punishing consumers who don't pay for its products. The company is getting some experience on the other side of the table, however, now that it's being sued for software piracy.

Craving the ultimate gaming display? The Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 offers stunning visuals, top-tier specs, & a sweet discount.
Jack writes: "Nvidia's RTX 5090 specs have been leaked, so we take a look at how they compare to the current flagship RTX 4090."
Just tell me when they're coming. Question is do I go for a 5080 build or blow the cash on something I'll probably never fully utilise like a 5090? Heart wants 5090 but brains telling me 5080 will be fine.
I still don't have a budget for 4090!!! Now the 5000x series is starting to knock on my door.
"PointDev, a French software company that makes Windows administration tools, received a call from a Sony BMG IT employee for support. After Sony BMG supplied a pirated license code for Ideal Migration, one of PointDev's products, the software maker was able to mandate a seizure of Sony BMG's assets."
Heh, wow. Nice work, Random Sony BMG IT Employee. I wonder if the money to fund the lawsuit will come out of your salary after they sack your ass?
It's not really surprising. The only company I've worked at that DIDN'T use pirated software was under a direct government contract, so we could've been shut down if we did.
I wish I could say I was shocked and appalled that a company would so vehementally crack down on piracy while simultaneously allow pirating of software within their own walls, but really, that's just the real business world in action.
What costs them money when it's their stuff? Piracy. What doesn't cost them money when it's NOT their stuff? Piracy. Hypocritical? Certainly. Standard operating procedure in the business world? You damn well better believe it.
I fail to see how this is gaming related news.
When anti-Sony fanboys run out of negative gaming press to slander them with.
Way to undermine the hard work of these developers while you STEAL their software and lively hoods. While at the same time also destroying peoples lives who have downloaded a few of your songs or back in the early days when you would infect their computers with malware in attempts to ruin peoples lives.
$ony are a poison, music, games and movies. I truely hope this company is successful at sueing them for every last penny they can get and I encourage the investigators to look further at ALL of $ony's companies and make sure they are playing by the same rules they expect everyone else to follow.
Just like their fishhead followers $ony am hypocrites!
MaSSiVE DaMAGE!
The sheer fact of it being a SOny branch, has nothing to do with games.
This is why N4G is ridiculed at, at sites like NEoGAF.
It's pure fanboism that lead to this article even existing.
We should be considerate, and articulate on which articles are game stamp worthy or just plain BULLSHIT.
hell yeah, I call for a stamp on every news article saying, bullsh*!@ or Genuine.
