"Jackalope, Arkayne and Heretic are back and answering more player questions on everything from upgrades to balance issues in Champions Online" writes Kestrel of MMORPG developer Cryptic Studios, makers of the upcoming Champions Online.
Cryptic Studios appears to be the latest Embracer-owned company to be impacted by layoffs.
Champions Online is based on the popular pen-and-paper Champions RPG, giving players the power of total customization of their hero experience while they explore a vast universe of richly detailed 3D environments.
The brand-new Witch Archetype brings ranged Support through the use of Curses to harm and spells to heal in Champions Online.
This is probably one of my top expected titles. City of Heroes is a terrific game, and now that Cryptic has gotten-rid of all the Marvel baggage for this game, I am even more eager to play it.
Having the game set in the Champions Universe means we players are going to get to experience a game that is _new_ and not just the well worn marvel universe.
If the game were set in the the Marvel Universe, we would always know what to expect. The good guys, bad guys, the plot points, settings and the like, with Champions Online, we'll get new and varied experiences.
I am very eager for this game.
I wonder if they'll continue work on City of Heroes after this releases?
Cryptic should tell us more about the persistence of the game world. It is touched upon in this article, but I'd like to hear more about their plans for the Massive-ness of the gameworld.
