Julie Larson-Green 'poised to become next Xbox One boss'

Steve Ballmer, the chief executive of the sprawling Windows empire, is said to be considering a sweeping reorganisation of executive oversight, according to alleged inside sources speaking to Bloomberg.

One proposed outcome is that the current Windows chief Julie Larson-Green "would oversee hardware engineering for all devices, including Xbox gaming consoles and Surface tablets".

She's responsible for heading the division that made Windows 8, 7, and the common features between different devices. That directive came down from MS though, probably with her input. It was a corporate thing. To say any one person is responsible for a huge MS directive isn't really fair. I think that applies to Mattrick as well. Mattrick's biggest problem though was that he just came across really bad when talking to the press. I doubt he was the only player in MS initial policies on the X1.

Why does it matter if its a man, or woman? If I'm the CEO of a company, I couldn't care what sex you are. If you're an excellent candidate for the job, you should be considered. If its proven that you clearly surpass the other rivals, you should be given the position.

It's like implementing a quota for females needed in senior positions. You're basically forcing businesses to put woman, who may not be up to the job, in senior positions. It has no purpose, realistically.

Put any gamer or developer in this position and MS will win. Only a real gamer understands that the market needs: a lot of new games, promotions like Steam, a really powerfull system, a good price, new forms to play, alliances with big developers and publishers, support to the Indie developer, new studios, research and development of new technologies like ilumiroom, MS has a lot of incredible resources......but if Micro puts another burocratic person ( like Nancy Tellem "xbox is the next watercooler" or the degraded Lt.
