Jolt: King of Clubs Review

King of Clubs is technically a mini golf game in the same way that a child's drawing is technically a piece of art. The developers seem to have spent more time naming the holes than actually designing them and the gameplay is completely mechanical. Jolt would have been happy with a tenth the number of holes if they'd been more thoughtfully designed, especially since a few of them showed promising ideas. King of Clubs is clunky, boring and most of the work seems to have gone into the presentation, which is a poor indictment of the game indeed.

GamerDad Reviews: King of Clubs

GamerDad writes: "Standard golf can only be jazzed up so far, but by its very nature, miniature golf is just crying out for enhancement and improvement. In King of Clubs, gamers play on over a dozen different mini golf courses based around six different themes such as prehistoric, medieval, or Egyptian. In addition to standard miniature golf obstacles and hazards, players can use clubs and golf balls with special abilities to make their way around the course. With tournament, career, fast play, and even a speed version of the game, King of Clubs provides a decent option for some fun golf-related Wii entertainment."

Game Boyz Review: King of Clubs

Game Boyz Writes:

"While King of Clubs' visuals are colorful, the mini-golf courses and games environments lack any real detail or sophistication. Granted I did not expect EA Sports Tiger Woods PGA quality, however I was expecting the environments and characters to look a little sharper and cleaner. I also noticed some jaggies and some of the visuals simply looked dated. For instance, the surrounding trees look dreadful and characters look grainy. On the plus side though some of the water and lighting effects are decent. The games menus are also easy to read and use which will certainly appeal to your younger gamer.

While the overall presentation could have been improved, the speed of the game is good. The loading times however can take some time but once you get into a game there is no noticeable slow down. At the end of the day there is nothing visually innovative with King of Clubs visually speaking."
