Hideo Kojima Suggests MGS Newbies Play MGS 3 First, or Peace Walker if You’re “Younger Gen”

Everybody thinks that he is Liquid. But what I find more interesting is that he looks nothing like Snake, he's more like a clone of Miller because they both are identical.

If you know your MGS history, Liquid and Solid don't look alike anyway. (slight spoilers) In fact, Liquid wears a Miller disguise throughout MGS1 and fools Snake into thinking Liquid is Miller.

Well, if you actually know your MGS history, you will know that Snake looked so much like Liquid in MGS1 that he cut his hair so not to be mistaken as him.

The amount of proof and hints in the trailer severely indicates that it is Liquid. For you to not assume he's Liquid based on saying he doesn't look like Solid Snake or Big Boss, I REALLY have to ask, had you ever fucking played MGS1? rofl. They don't sound or look alike in terms of hair, course. Maybe he's blonde because Big Boss had some recessive blonde genes that passed down and had a 25% chance to biologically be feasible. Like eyes with BB, Bb and bb in which Big Boss also has blue eyes which are recessive.

Honestly, I'd say it's hard to ignore the small clues that hint towards it. We know that at some point, Punished Snake visits Afghan and we know of Liquid Snake's existing connection to the Middle East.

I wouldn't overlook that Solid Snake's name was stated in Metal Gear Solid as David. In the Bible, two sons of "God" are named Eli and David. Kojima seems to like to play around with Western philosophies and culture.

Kojima is telling people to go with MGS3 and Peace Walker because MGS5 (and probably the next one, too) are focusing on the story of Big Boss. MGS3 and Peace Walker contain about 90% of the series' information regarding BB.

I have beaten MGS3 like 5-6 times this year for the first time but I just couldn't get into Peace Walker with the crappy "comic like" cut-scenes. Not top mention the small maps and the many loading times between them, it's just too much for me to handle. Snake can't even crouch on this game and the new control set-up was very uncomfortable too. =/

And what pisses me off the most is that if you don't play Peace Walker you'll be completely lost when it comes to the story and characters of MGSV. Like seriously, I have no idea who Paz, Chico or Miller are. Well I know a bit about Miller but nothing about the 2 children.

Yeah, I'm bummed because I couldn't get into Peace Walker either. Because I don't feel as caught up with the series, I think it may be affecting my excitement for Phantom Pain.

MGS4 has a lot of feels as well especially towards the end but MGS3 has that special feeling to it. Its different its special. Youll love it.

I couldn't play the psp version crazy controls. Made myself get used to the HD version, and I was glad I did. It is probably my 2nd or 3rd best, behind MGS1. The game is awesome and I really didn't want it to end. Once you finally get used to it you'll love it and the co op is excellent too as I actually needed it on one of the bosses and some dude from Japan bailed me out. The story fits and you actually see how Big Boss started building his empire. I even loved the extra ops especially after it looked like too much headache to get into

If you have a Vita you can play it with Dual Sticks. That's what I am doing right now.

I say just play them in order of release. Meaning Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2. Metal Gear Solid, etc. While MGS3 is earlier in terms of timeline, sure, the story evolved over the course of release. Then again, Kojima is the only one that fully understands his convoluted, yet wonderful narrative.

I stopped listening. Until he gives a release date and some info on the new MGO, i'm done lsitening. I don't like being teased when the game might not even be close to releasing. Plus to much of the plot might get spoiled early.

I'd have to disagree, mgs3 is the best one, you'll only be disappointed every game after if you start with that.

Thanks Kojima-san. You made it easier for me. I just got MGS HD Collection and I didn't know which to play first and I'm a newbie at MGS series. I don't even know which Snake is which. There is so many of them.

Tried MGS 1,2,3 & I just couldn't get into them,I tried 4 & I enjoyed it from beginning to end.
