The reality is that for every IP that generates fanfare and revenue, hundreds of IP's fall by the wayside. That's how it always been. Gamers are just whining about something that happens all the time. And to top it off, there are hardly enough of them go around to support every niche, creative, "new" IP the industry pumps out like they care about them anyway yet they wanna whine about how the casual crowd is ruining gaming by all but exclusively supporting the popular IP's.
